Santas working in shopping malls across Australia have been banned from saying "Ho Ho Ho" because it might frighten children. http://www.news.com.au/top-stories/santa-claus-banned-from-ho-ho-ho/story-e6frfkp9-1111114849356
No, he wasn't. Trust me. Every damn santa in every damn shopping centre still says ho ho ho. Santas on Australian TV still say ho ho ho. This was talked about years ago. Fucking hell, what is with all these 'Australia bans...' threads???
I am thinking someone doesn't like Aussies perhaps? But no MrDBenz,,, he has not been banned from saying hohoho and just as Sin says, this is old OLD news... move on.
Since the words fuck and cunt are able to be said on any of our free to air tv stations, we can view nudity and damn near porn on them too. I'd say, not much. Less than America, for sure. I mean, yes, we get some censorship, but so do all countries. But we are far more free than a lot of countries. I think violence is probably more censored here than sex, but we see a shit load of that too. Just because a few video games don't get through, doesn't mean we don't get any violent video games. I mean, geezuz, how many video games survive the censorship in the US? I'm sure there are some that don't get through. What's the big deal?? It happens.
In the US, the ESRB system (ratings system for video games) aren't all that big of a deal. Sure companies like Rockstar always get the center of attention thanks to the GTA series and Manhunt games, but for the most part they tend to retain almost all of the contents they wanted. Plus, they won't really BAN the games. But they would go about putting a AO stamp on video games if they feel they have "excessive sexual content". That's worse than a simple ban since it could put a huge dent on sales. (AO = Adults Only; equivalent of X-rated movies)
