My heart has been broken': Saints offensive lineman Jermon Bushrod's week-old baby daughter passes away...


New Orleans Saints offensive guard Jermon Bushrod's newborn baby girl passed away, the 12-year NFL veteran announced on social media.

• The 34-year old Bushrod did not specify how the baby died
• He did acknowledge that there were complications during the pregnancy
• The Bushrod family received condolences from a number of teammates, including Saints tight end Ben Watson, who wrote: 'We are with you. We love you'
• Bushrod was a member of the Saints team that won the Super Bowl at the end of the 2009 season, when he played left tackle in front of quarterback Drew Brees

Bushrod wrote on Saturday... 'She was only here for a week but we were ready to love her unconditionally. We will get through this with faith, family and friends. Thanks for prayers and support.'

'We knew there was issues before birth, but we were ready for your journey,' he wrote. 'Because of you Jordyn our family is stronger. You were going to be special. We were not expecting or ready for this. Having you leave this earth after 1 week just hurts. My kids are my ? and to never see you again will be tough BUT our GOD will get us through this.'

They have a boy Jermon Jr, a girl Jayla and a new baby who died, Jordyn Lynn.

He feels fortunate to be entering into his 8th year in the NFL and realized he has a serious opportunity to change lives so he created the Visualize and Rize Foundation to help youth succeed through sports and education. His organization runs a youth football camp, a scholarship program, hosts holiday dinners and events to provide for families who are less fortunate, has a YMCA sponsorship program to keep kids fit and healthy, and so much more. It’s all about motivating and giving back and he is doing a phenomenal job. Though concentrated in Virginia he does have plans to expand to Chicago!
