Russian Women and Green Cards

hi....

i have a problem with a russian woman i met over lavalife.....

we both exchanged emails and from i can get shes in love with me....

i don't know why because i don't know the woman too well....

i believe i'm being taken advantage of here...

in one of her emails, she mentioned a hatred of russian men...all they do, according to her, is drink vodka all day and very closed minded....

i believe she wants a green card to become an american citizen, since its very hard to live in russia these days...

i am wondering if some ya'll brothers out there faced the same problem....

she sent me three pics of herself....shes a hottie.....

 

Know the person a lot more better before you really are taken advantage of. Russian women are hot no doubt but it does takes time to know a person from a long distance.

I would just take it real slow because sometimes alot of them women are frauds at some of these sites. But I doubt you would do prison time for marrying a woman to help her get her greencard lol. Just becareful man.

 

I actually have done extensive research on internet frauds, and this sounds like one. The line where she talks about russian men drinking vodka all day...heard that one many times before. It's a line that many scammers use. Also her talking about how she's falling in love with you without you really even knowing her...oldest trick in the book. Don't fall for it.

I don't know if she (or he posing as she) has asked you for any money yet, but they try and get you to fall in love with them with pictures and pretty letters, and then ask you for money later on.

Oh, i just saw in the other thread that this question has already been answered. Well, go ahead and check out the link to that site anyway. It's extremely helpful. They have photos of would be scammers, examples of e-mails that scammers use, and they even have a scammer free dating section on there and also a forum if you have any questions about anything. By the way, good luck finding someone for you. Just don't use singlesnet.com. That is scammers paradise :lol:

I'm here... it's true that there are scammers out there, and there are also decent women. I don't like to hear it when Russian women are generalized either as all angels or all scammers... neither one is true.

It seems to me that when doing the mail order bride thing the man should approach it as another form of internet dating. You meet someone online. If you met a girl on match.com and she started asking for money, it would kill the deal, right? Of if she started negative talk about men of her nationality or something of that sort, it would be a red flag too, right? I think the same things apply to meeting someone online who is overseas. Once you establish a comfort level with the woman, you can move on to a phone conversation, hear her voice... you know.

The process of getting to know each other would take longer if she's overseas rather than in the next town, but it's the same dynamics, really. I think that the only difference there is anymore between Russian and American women is that a Russian woman would still expect the man to make most of the first moves, such as suggest a phone call, a trip, etc., and she would sincerely appreciate his chivalry. I'm sure American girls love chivalry too though. But if she is all over you before you are and asks you for favors, that's usually a red flag. You don't need some broad whose life is a mess and she wants you to rescue her (which you won't be able to because she'll mess it up again, and yours too). A normal woman is very careful with a new man, and takes her time making decisions about him.

I highly disagree about the part about Russian men drinking vodka all day. Is that the only kind of men you meet, sistagirl??? Russian men are among some of the most successful professionals, especially in IT and computer programming fields, here in the US. Sergey Brin for example co-founded Google and is swimming in dough (I think he's the 9th richest person in the US). I don't appreciate it when Russian women make such statements. Get your life together and go find yourself a decent man, especially if you're such a hottie! My father works in the Silicon Valley in CA, and all of those highly paid programmers out there are RUSSIAN MEN! Dad tells me there is not enough Russian girls in the area for them to date. Sistagirl needs to get online and search for a Russian man in California, she'll hit the jackpot!

I wouldn't trust "feelings" that developed solely based on email communication. It may turn out to be completely different in person, the sexual chemistry as well as simple human interaction. What was that Chris Rock said (I think it was him), "when you date someone, you don't meet them, you meet their representative". And what if you only meet their best photo on your computer screen?

There's gotta be at least one in-person meeting, and preferably more, before people can talk about serious feelings for each other.
