I saw Russell being interviewed about his book, Do you! - and he was explaining about the exclamation mark on it. He said at first they weren't going to have puncuation at all, but then they realized that white people would think it meant Do You? and not get it. The he realized what he had actually said (pretty much dissing all white people on national TV) and he tried to back track and wiggle out of it a little bit - that was funny.
