absolutely. i thank my parents for taking me to the bush in latin america, as a child and raising me working the ranch---it almost gave me an active life with the horses, with hard work and with character building
i love cricket as well and used to live next to a wonderful cricket club here where i learn to play. crazy about bullfighting and polo too
I live in suffolk. It's a bit like illinois, no hills, just flat. Not great if you like the outdoors.
cornwall is fantastic. It's my favourite place in the uk. Really beautifull dramatic scenery. That's were my ancestors come from.
really? i visited Keswick Cumbria, had an ex girl friend from there, but I never got to Cornwall, I am a country kid living in a big city, so I love the countryside in england and scotland--my wife is scottish
I will return to go there, also go to see my football team--Everton play at Goodison park, I will also want to trek or do the canals
wow, that is expensive--It is rather inexpensive to travel across country here in the US by train or bus and really inexpensive by plane. I can go from New York to florida over 1000miles, for 79$ RT
We are exaggerating a bit. Flying is pretty cheap but you need a car when you get there. I will take my daughter by car one day. My brother lives in northumbria which is on the way. Trains in the uk are notoriously expensive and unreliable.
really? the people who come to the US from UK brag about their trains--they say they are cheap and fast. i love the trains here and in Canada--for 750$ i can ride from New York to California, stop off in 3 different places along the way--stay a while--get back on and go to my destination all in 45 days. Its lovely. Canadian rail cross country is lovely as well. I would love to go to Scotland to see my friends in Aberdeen , Ft William, and on the Island of Islay.
No it's a strangely interesting thing, tucker...apparently train use has never been higher in the country, but fares are reaching new heights quite out of sync with inflation, it's something like £200 now for an open return fare London-Manchester, which you'll know is not exactly a long way! Unless you have a season/discount ticket or buy well in advance, the prices make train travel a province for the rich... I remember very clearly taking the enormous train from Washington DC to New York...that was fantastic, such an amazing way to travel (seeing the back streets of Philly although we didn't get a chance to visit, and the countryside), and wow, are those trains spacious! You couldn't even lean over and touch the seat in front, it was heaven to be in the cool air conditioning during an August when temperatures were at 100 degrees or so...I think the price was quite reasonable too from what I remember.
that is true, and the buses are even cheaper and nice too--esp the chinatown buses from philly to New York; New York -DC $20 dollars rt
