With the utmost due respect there is usually three or more sides to any story and as I'm on my phone at the moment I can't search and post links to some of the churches darker aspects. With great great power always comes great corruption.

Also an LDS website will be giving the church accolades.

Listen, I have no doubt about their dark-side (all Churches and all religions have them as we know), but you're deflecting instead of acknowledging. The essence of this thread (and your comment) was about political charity which parlayed into Romney's church affiliations, and your assertion of their lack of Charity work.

Disprove it, otherwise concede it. We're simply discussing facts in this instance, not opinions. You still get to keep yours no matter if Romney himself wrote you a check. (if you needed that)

 

I concede. Actually my oldest brother and his wife are very devout Mormons. They were married in the tabernacle when I was 2 and are still married to this day. I have great respect for them. They cite their religion as their main source of strength and inspiration. We don't agree on every point, my family and I. They hang on to every word beck ever says and we all know beck is a head case deluxe. But they ARE good people and their faith is a very strong point in making them so.

I don't mean to come off as saying that religious charity is foul or should be stopped. It is a basic tenant of many faiths world wide and should be applauded. I am very glad that many types of faiths do charitable work. In many countries with governments far more corrupt than ours outside faith based work means the difference between living and dying.

It's good that people care enough to give to the less fortunate. In whatever way they choose and even if personally in their everyday lives they are complete dicks as is the case with Romney.

Sorry, Romney kept a lot of offshore accounts and a one in Switzerland. No doubt he is almost a billionaire like his friends from Karl Rove and Koch Brothers Superpacs. BB1970,you had hit it on the head. Plus he put most of his wealth in his wifey's name like a gangster.

 

That's the new patriotism according to Conservitards; not contributing anything to the commons. There were people on the right calling that Eduardo Saverin cat a patriot for renouncing his citizenship so that he could evade taxes.

It's gotten to the point where I don't even want to debate politics anymore. Motherfuckers with tell you that up is down with a straight face just to win an argument.
