I've been out to Alligator Alley near Davie. And I have been to Cape Coral.

When I lived in Miami Gardens, I was more than an hour away.

it is not what you say but how you say it. whats your intention in saying it and when you say it.

    and who's "truth" is it?

it IS about self esteem. self esteem means having confidence (not cocky or arrogant) and satisfaction in oneself. having self respect.

having that means being a person when the low times come they are smart enuff to listen to advice. they are comfortable in asking.

they are comfortable where they are if they choose. or they choose to go higher.

they arent ruled by wants...kids are ruled by wants. adults get what is needed.
every dude wants a halle berry...what they need is a ruby dee.
hell i wouldnt with fuck halle. i would get with whoopi before halle.
    whats the difference?
shitting on people is not showing respect to yourself.

Cleveland, Oh. It was a diamond in the rough when I lived there. A people oriented city that loved to party a bit more than you would expect and they loved southerners. The west side was well integrated with White's, Black's, and Puerto Ricans. Anyway..... the grand canyon is certainly on my list of places to visit. I love the countryside and mountains as well as any place that's good for hiking, but I have always been compelled toward the water for some reason. Don't think I would forever need the beach, but it would be nice to always at least be near a lake thats good for swimming.

Whilst I only spent a weekend there, I really liked that city. It wasn't big and obnoxious like Chicago. I even had a dream several years later that my friend (who moved there and I was visiting) told me I should move to Cleveland. LOL.

But my true desire is to move out West.

The Polar Vortex really hit that point home to me. I've been feeling the same way about the cold. I know this past winter was likely the exception, but still, I was just finished this past winter. I never desired to live in a warm climate like FL until this winter. LOL.

I really hope this past winter was an anomaly, but we'll see.

Ahh. The Cleveland/Chicago connection. Its nice how you land in Chicago at the same time your flight begins in Cleveland.

THIS is all I've been trying to get at. When you reach a certain point in your life other things begin to take precedence. Having a secure lifestyle, for example. Six figure income becomes a lot more important when you grow up. Six certifications is par for the course when you've been working in your industry for longer than others have been alive. International travel? Well, that six figure income makes it possible... no shame in any of that. Nobody wants to be living check to check as an adult.

Lets understand one thing though, and make sure we're on the same topic; self-esteem and confidence are not the same thing. It seems that some people are using the two interchangeably. Using myself for an example, I have high self-esteem but rather low confidence. That is to say, I am proud of who I am. I am happy with where I've come from and where I am. I am proud of my accomplishments. However, I when presented with a new challenge I do doubt myself. This applies at the office, in the gym, on the bball court and in introducing myself to someone new. I am proud of who I am, but I have doubts in my abilities. Both factor into sense of self, but they are not the same.

Note:All that said, I do realize that California is an alternate universe where people are just 'better' so this does not apply to them. Confidence and Esteem both remain well above that of the rest of the universe. Everything that I said is meant to apply to the rest of the world... or as you guys may refer to us., 'the common-folk'.

one correction but i get what you are saying but self esteem is a confidence and satisfaction in oneself. having selfrespect. per websters collegiate dictionary.

climbing the ladder of success is good. just make sure that ladder is on the right building.

the problem i have is we (people in general) get in pity parties....its one thing to be down...its another to wade in it. get up shake it off. it doesnt rain everyday....if there was not rain then there are no flowers. no rain you will not appreciate the sun.

Unfortunately a lot of the guys here who pontificate and lecture others and pretend their shit don't stink probably are on welfare, have no life, are deadbeat dads and have a litter of children and can't even pay child support . I always say this never judge people by their online persona otherwise there wouldn't be many women killed after meeting a nice, well put together man who looked like he had everything going for him in life on a website and who agreed with everything she said.

Lol I would've gone just to console you when your boys fell flat on their faces in the black hole! I actually like the Giants...what Eli did to the chargers during his draft was awesome lol. I'll never forget it :D Your team lost some key players this off season though so it'll be interesting to see if they're competitive this year.
