All I'll say is Universal Healthcare doesn't even exist in Bernieland VT and was voted down in CO as too expensive. Don't take my word for it, Google it. Beasty's right on this one

Ok when Roosevelt wanted social security it didn't exist in any state and every critic said it was too expensive yet it exists

    a) Roosevelt got ELECTED.
    b) Roosevelt was coming out of the worst economic disaster in US history (much like when Obama took over from Bush)
    c) 65% of the African-American workforce was EXCLUDED from Social Security http://acorruptgovernment-creinhart.weebly.com/social-security-act-of-1935.html
    d) Because of b), FDR did not have an obstructionist Dixiecrat party like the GOP is today
    e) The preferred end user of Social Security was perceived to be WHITE

Anytime a Berner starts with FDR, I point out that blacks were EXCLUDED from his programs.

The good news is a year from now nobody will be bringing up Bernie.

What on earth does that have to do with the viability of Medicare for all? Talk about reaching.
The current conversation is that it's a pie in the sky dream. Its too expensive and it will never pass. My point is those were the same arguments for social security.
And if that could be passed after the depression why can't something similar be passed now?
And of course black people were excluded it was the fricking Jim crow post slavery era. What's your point?
If the concern black people will be excluded then tell that to millions of retirees who receive their social security checks while being black. You made absolutely no sense and I'm disappointed in you.

You opened the door when you invoked FDR. Too bad you glossed over facts, but not surprising.

You know what, I'm going to sit back and wait to see when M4A actually happens. Or Bernie getting the nomination for that matter.

Going back and forth with delusional Bernie-Bots is a waste of time.

So I don't agree with you I'm delusional got it. You aren't making a case. If you were to say the status quo won't allow for it because most of the senate takes corporate Pac money fine. If you said we can't afford it after the tax cuts that would make more sense but you're simply saying it won't work without any reason other than someone would have to be stupid to believe it can happen even though we have historical evidence that even bigger social programs have passed. All it takes is political will nothing more nothing less. Why does every single other developed nation do it? Are we some how smarter than all those other nations? Do we have it right when we pay twice as much while leaving so many bankrupt. Can we agree there is a problem to be fixed?

A good post rooted in facts, but you could have stopped at the part where FDR got ELECTED. Hahahaha!!!

Facts bounce off Berners' chests like bullets off Superman. I take heart in the fact that Bernie's is a cult of personality that will die when a) he loses in 2020 or b) he dies. Keep the faith.

For me it's comedy on one hand. On the other, it gives me an even deeper appreciation for the subjects where opinions are irrelevant. So for now the bots are just an element that helps balance the pure objectivity and reality that I regularly indulge.

When Bernie falls off the scene, something else will take his place and I'll gladly accept.

Can I get concrete reasons why M4A or true Universal Health Care is unaffordable?

Also, why is free college not doable? And, if it is doable, why wouldn't we want to implement it?

This isn't a socialist country. The only reason I'm for universal healthcare is because it's a necessity and not simply a want.

I hate the word free college because it wouldn't be free. It would simply cost people in a different way than it does now. The reason I'm not for it because most people don't realize that and seem incapable of understanding that concept. They have no idea how it's implemented in Europe and they are simply too lazy to do the G*d damn research. Lol.

However I would fix the issue by simply making college affordable like it is here in southern states. If people don't want to pay that then how bad do they really want to go to school anyway?

You can get 4 years of a college education here for 20,000 to 35,000 and federal backed loans are available.

That's cheaper than a car. If you're not willing to pay that, stay your sorry asses at home.....lol

Welp, Congress controls the purse strings and the Republicans own Congress.

You need a liberal SCOTUS and major public will to push through Universal Health Care. Too bad it's a conservative majority on the Supreme Court and half the population are Republicans.

Free college used to be doable on the state level, see California in the 70s. But again, you need clear liberal majorities to pass such funding bills.

If Berners and Stein-Bots weren't always sabotaging and ratfucking Dems, they could maybe get what they want.

    Oh well.

    Adam Smith >>>>> Karl Marx

Marx didn't even study economics. He studied philosophy and law. Funny that these pro socialist dudes can't even describe "Democratic Socialism" as an economic system. They only describe it as a philosophy.

    Epic fail in catastrophic proportions.

Medicare for all is very doable and necessary we pay almost per capita than developed nations implementing it.
Free college is necessary to build a work force to compete globally and to give low income people a way to a better life. The idea that labelling it free is misleading is ridiculous. Public education k through 12 is "free" we understand that public is education provided by the public we all chip in. I don't know what misunderstanding labelling college as free would lead to but ok. And the notion that if you aren't willing to mortgage your future and to into debt means you don't want something then why not advocate that for healthcare and elementary education? If Timmy wants to graduate bad enough his lazy ass can take out loans go into debt and pay for that shit.
And yes we have a majority republican Senate not the house and just like seats were flipped in the house its not impossible to do the same in the senate. And maybe I missed something but does a conservative SCOTUS have to do with passing legislation. Their only function is interpret the law after its been legislated so if the American people vote their interests and want Medicare for all and free college SCOTUS has nothing to do with that. And I love how you Adam Smith is being toted as an infalable. Things evolve things get amended. That's why slavery wad abolished along with the 3/5 compromise and keeping women from voting. What may appeared logical and rational at a particular time doesnt mean it stays that way forever.

There is no free lunch in economics, therefore:
You just essentially called economics 101 ridiculous. Lol. In that case, every economics class you took was for what reason? You don't like corporations so your finance classes were for what reason? 40 precent of your accounting classes were for what reason? 30 percent of your tax classes were for what reason?

You getting emotional enough to hit the dislike button was for what reason?

Reminds me of the phrase coined by Al Pacino. "Vanity, my favorite sin"

    Hahahaha!
