I would love to get some feedback on this shyt :!: Let me know what you folks think of it. http://dlisted.com/node/24384
I'm actually not offended. The Wayans played 'whiteface' and the movie did well. I take it with a grain of salt and brush it off.
double standards at its' best... honestly...how can we expect white people to take us seriously.. when we think it's okay for movies like "White Chicks" to come out.. but not okay for movies like this one  on a side note.. "If it's done right, it could be the type of role you called Peter Sellers to do 35 years ago. If you don't do it right, we're going to hell." I think Rob's aware of the possibility of negativity coming from the film. But again, if we want "equality" in this country, we need to protest movies like White Chicks, or any other ones that make fun of white people, if we honestly expect them not to make fun of us.
That IS NOT BLACKFACE..!!!!! C'mon now .. I expected to see Downey wiith his face painted like Al Jolson or some shit.. The guy that wrote the article called this Blackface..is just LOOKING FOR TROUBLE and trying to get a rise outta' Black people..or he's just IGNORANT as hell.. Black face is CHARACATUER of Black people's appearance..this is not the case at all.. Downey is in heavy makeup playing a role as a BM..
it depends on what he does with the role.. if he portrays an ignorant black man, who always screws things up and talks a bunch of slang, along with performing various other stereotypes... that might cause a stir if Rob looked like this.. I guess people wouldn't need to see the movie before going bananas
....what exactly are we doing now?? helping to promote the movie, by keeping this thread littered with posts
It's all good, Noble. Glad you brought it to our attention. I thought the article was rather interesting. :smt023
 Again no doubt playa...I'm gonna always love coochie...especially white coochie but every now & then I do get into other issues as well.
It doesn't bother me at all. Of course Rev Al and Jesse will make some noise instead of concentrarting on real issues.
I personally am not offended as long as he isn't portraying some Steppin' Fetchit-like kinda character.
