I remember seeing Vanity's video Pretty Mess. She was very pretty and sexual. She was asked on a talk show why she wasn't in Prince's film Purple Rain. "I was chicken," she replied. Then came a song she did on her solo album. One of the songs was a sexually charged piece called Animals. It's quite a silly song. When she became a born-again Christian, She denounced her past image and life. It was rumored that she said that Prince and Michael Jackson were going to hell. She was a happy woman in her new life. May she Rest In Peace.
Prince is in Melbs at the moment on his Piano & Mic concert (I'm going to his first set at 6.30 tonight). I've heard that he played Sometimes It Snows In April as a dedication to her, last night.
I AGREE.......You would think with his millions, that If she was only seeking to raise $50,000 for her medical costs....... that he not only cover her tab, but do it discreetly and save her having to beg publically.....Prince ain't shit....Back in the day, that girl did every thing he ask of her.....She was a great opening act for concerts his concerts, a great co-actress for his film and even swore to the world that he was a man in bed despite his androgyny.....Damn Prince.....What ever the cost....You could have help Vanity.......
My fave Vanity songs are Pretty Little Mess and Drive Me Wild. She played in the Carl Weathers movie years back.
R.I.P. - I'm saddened that her collaborators and friends from the music industry didn't just do a benefit concert for her or something.
That film was Action Jackson. She was also in the Fred Williamson film South Beach and was even in an episode of a show called T&T with Mr.T. She played a mud wrestler in trouble. The show was produced by the Family Channel under TBN(Trinity Broadcasting Network).
The interest off a small fraction of his wealth would have covered it easily. Glad I don't even listen to his music. I only remember two of his songs. Purple rain and red corvette. lol Couldn't agree more. smdh
