It's horrible but a responding cop would have done the same thing. What is his son doing in a ski-mask, black clothes and his own weapon (whatever kind it was) coming at his dad, after trying to break into his auntie's home?? There's more to this than being reported.
Someone I know works with the dad and said the kid was an honor student and on the straight and narrow. They speculate it was a bad prank gone terribly wrong. Just sad
Once he left his house, Giuliano immediately saw a masked person dressed all in black clothing and wearing a ski-mask and holding a "shiny object," according to the police report. Giuliano, who teaches at the Meeting House Hill School in New Fairfield, told police that the masked stranger came at him with the object still in his hand and in a threatening manner. Giuliano said he believed that the stranger was armed, and during the confrontation that quickly followed discharged his handgun. There seems to be a lot of details missing from the story, assuming that it is supposed to make some sense. However the ending is tragic indeed.
How unfortunate. In a time of horrific crimes everywhere in robberies, home invasions, rapes, muggings etc..... the paranoia will only get worse. According to FBI statistics over two million crimes are prevented from those with a weapon to protect themselves. There is just not enough police to protect us all. Incidents like this will change nothing. The kid was stupid in what he done. He killed himself being stupid. I know the ("S") will attack me on this, but that is how I see it.
What really got him killed is there's a rapist on the loose that has everyone on edge and thats why his dad went out there with a gun. Just sad.
As long as the fear of crime permeates throughout this society, we all will be on edge. A woman who fears to walk to her car at night, or sleep alone in her home, a man who is mugged for his hard earned pay, or a teenager beaten simply because, he carried a book (this happened here), by the way some colleges and universities want students to carry guns for their protection, because they cannot afford the added protection, the gun will always be the "tool" for defense. It's the irresponsible human behind the tool that gives us cause for concern.
You're right its just sad when it turns out like this but it seems like its the only way to keep ourselves safe
I heard about this this morning...it is horrible...cannot imagine killing my own kid. I understand how the man felt the need to protect himself...and if it was meant to be a prank like some are speculating, it ended tragically and senselessly. I am with Bliss and a few others on this one...everything just doesn't seem to be adding up. Regardless...more terrible news to hear. Doesn't make me feel any safer now that I live alone...i don't even answer my door unless I know and am expecting someone to come over.
Yeah there HAS to be more to this story. ANyways, the dumbass kid got what he deserved. Dressing up in a ski mask lookin to rob mofos...smdh
No, more like he done something dumb and paid with his life. Tell me you never done anything stupid when you were 15. Then again, mabe you are 15 years old now.
I've never pulled a dumbass "prank" like this before thats for damn sure. You put on a ski mask and try to intimidate someone, you better be ready for the consequences.
At that age stupidity is common place. I doubt he thought it through. Me and friends have done similar dumb shit but fortunately no one had to pay with their life. The worst I think was someone got bitten by a dog trying to deliver a fake love letter to a chick's house.
Maybe not, but most of us men have done something that could have cost us our lives at some point. The difference is that we see the potential danger now. Hell I almost caused my own death before by simply not sleeping, a combination of overly ambitious and even dumber, parting too much. Clinical problem=no, maybe I just thought I was superman, who knows. Ages 15-24 are the ages when you can do the most for yourself, but you need the most help. I challenge you to admit to an imperfection or bad decision you have made once in your life.
robbing people does not mean that you deserve to die. what a ridiculous thing to say, how can you equate a persons possessions to a persons life?
Easy for you to say. You have probably never been robbed before Like I said earlier, if that little shit mofo put on a ski mask, then he better be prepared for the consequences
