Thanks, Tony. We all owe much appreciation to those who sacrificed themselves to make the world a better place. It's easy to forget how blessed we are as a result of those sacrifices & hard work. This is one of my favorite MLK pics. His expression is priceless.
this guy was our real first black president, IMO imagine Obama giving a speech from the Dr King Memorial... damn people would be in tears:smt022
GOP would have made something of it...like oh he is being a racist. because mlk was a race baitor thus obummer is a racse baitor oh you see I told you he is a commie. MLK was a commie. oh he is playing the race card
Yeah. That would be an very special event to witness. I'd love to see Obama do that. :smt045That he was Tammy.
Sometimes I wonder what Dr. King would think of the State of Affairs for Peoples of African Descent. I will be stopping by the King Memorial this Saturday in Washington D.C. My wife and son will be standing with me at the memorial for a picture to have for my son when he is old enough to understand that we represent as a family united as what Dr. King hoped for despite skin colors.
If nothing else it would have been something if Dr. King lived long enough into his old age to have seen the first black President elected. I want to get a portrait painted made with Dr. King with his hand outreach to President Obama who in turn has his hand outreached back to him.
yeah MLK would be some distance outstretched and booker t and fred douglas behind mlk. malcom beside mlk. between malcom and obama would be colin powell and condelezza rice. then obama reaches his hand toward us
Sounds like an idea to include in that portrait others in the background who contributed to President Obama's historic election.
exactly. people hate on C. Rice but she is an inspiration to blacks, black women and to women overall.
