Quite a story - the cost of the removal (more than $35,000) was covered by a donor to the Southern Poverty Law Center: http://news.yahoo.com/reformed-skinhead-endures-agony-remove-tattoos- 162205881.html
I read about something like that. I understand his plight, but given that he's a motivational speaker and activist on exercising tolerance and acceptance, I think the tattoos should be kept for others to see as a reminder of what they should not succumb to: bigotry.
There may be value to it in that respect, LBW, but I can certainly understand his desire to be rid of them as part of his rejection of his past.
I heard this news couple days ago. I'm glad to see that 1 man is able to take a step away from hate. "Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that." Martin Luther King Jr. Their is a movie about this called "American History X" Where a skinhead goes to jail and he meets a black guy who changes his views. If you haven't seen this movie............ PLEASE DO. It's very good.
That can be debated in the case of the New Panther Party, which has nowhere near the programmatic clarity of the original Black Panthers of the 1960s-1970s. But in the case of the originals, that statement is patently false.
great movie , but it just wasnt the black guy. he noticed that the whole thing about white power was about money and what not and not what they preached
