SFX remind me of "Flyboys." WWII-era planes didn't fly like TIE Fighters.

Actually Lucas used WWII plane footage as a model for how he wanted those small space crafts in Star Wars to fly.

I guess this is the perfect site to also post the main romance in the film is an IR one. One of the pilots falls in love with an Italian woman (who is played by that chick on NCIS: Los Angeles). In the latter part of the trailer there's a moment inside a cockpit in which you see a gloved hand stretch out to lovingly touch a black and white photo. That photo is of her.

Damn its a trip how the racist on you tube go to great lengths to down talk a movie that will portray african americans in a positve and heroic light.

This is the typical reflexive response regardless whether its this movie or the Karate Kid remake or the urban horror flick Attack the Block. It is what insecure fellas do on YouTube (and Aint It Cool News and Comingsoon.net). Ignore it. Stop giving them attention.

Ironic, because now they make WWII planes fly like space ships (see: Pearl Harbor, Flyboys, what I can see of Red Talis)

It looks like it will be good. With that much action it will draw people in and they will learn a bit of history.

Lots of meatheads out there who don't ever crack a history book. This may be the only place they learn it from.

New Red Tails trailer looks better than the first trailer I'm even more excited about this movie.

Here are the major reasons why this movie will fail even with the backing of Lucas.

1.War movies aren't liked in general.

2.White people other than history buffs aren't interested in watching black actors as the main focus of the movie.

3.The power of the black man's dollar is very weak at the box office.

    Cool thanks.

Come on man, you know that the general movie goer could care less about war movies esp when it revolves around older wars.

Red Tails will be very lucky to even break even.

    Lucas is a genius

the budget for this film was 10 mil

he knows how racist this country is and already figured the movie might tank, since it features blacks as main figures kickin white German ass

    :)

Yeah definite genius. I find it hard to believe he would just blindly make a film without research on interest. I am sure it will have success if promoted.

Top 50 war films per IMDB. I have seen a lot of them.

The black male dollar don't have to be weak blacks are some of the biggest consumers in this country. If this movies was about black gangsta or something it would do well. And I know this movie will not do well but I still excited about it. Like Spike Lee said his WW2 movie about the black soldiers did not do well. And yet it was a story that had to be told regardless of the box office gain.
