Do we have a recipe thread anywhere? I haven't seen one, but I'm blind when things are right in front of me.

Anyway! If there is none, then we need one. If there is one, then I'll delete this!

I need recipes! I saw Life-y (my wife-y! hehe) post about mac n cheese, so it got me thinking...i want some new things to try in the kitchen. I -love- to cook, though I'm poor so I never have much to work with. I make up all kinds of awesome recipes when I have food, tho! *L* I never really follow any recipe to the letter, but I can never find anything that really interests me on all those cooking sites. Everything just doesn't seem to fit my "style", I guess, but I'm more of an improv cook anyhow.

However, if you guys know of any simple recipes or really tasty recipes, I will totally try them out. And by simple I mean...ingredients that are cheap/ interesting things you've made when your pantry is low and you were looking for something new.

Like this one I made last night! Fantastic.

1 pkg Ramen noodles (sans flavor packet. Just noodles)
1 half medium, very ripe tomato
1 lil piece off a fresh bit of garlic
Handful chopped onions (or however much you want, really. It's for flavor and texture)
    salt
    peper
    Zatarain's Creole seasoning

You chop up the tomato real fine, and the garlic, and the onion, put a little water in a sauce pan (the little ones!) and boil. Stir regularly so it doesn't stick, but mostly just cook it slow..bring it to a boil and then turn the heat down so it simmers and all that yummy tomato goodness cooks up and forms a good base for the sauce. Then toss in a little (or a lot, depending on taste) of the Creole seasoning, salt, and pepper, cook up the ramen noodles, and voila!

I call it "College Student Spagetti, sans ketchup"

of course you can toss in peppers and other veggies, but I'm just not big on peppers myself. I keep trying different ones in hopes I can find one I find tasty, but so far no luck. I'll eat them in my food sometimes, but not always.

I also made some killer chocolate pancakes with flour, sugar, an egg, milk, water, and Quik chocolate syrup. mmm.

Yes we do! I started one in the Ladies Room!

    Here's a recipe:
make dough from cottage cheese, flour, eggs and sugar.
Take apricots or small plums and take out the core nut.
Flatten the dough and make small balls with the fruit in the middle and the a thin layer of dough around it.
And throw them into boiling water. Let them boil until they're floating.
It's called Knedle, it's a Czech desert. Great for the summer!
