I've never been a "the world is coming to an end" type. Generally speaking, I try to find silver linings in tough situations and maintain some level of optimism. That said, I'm literally in tears trying to figure out how to explain this nightmare to my daughter in the morning. She went to bed honestly thinking that hate wouldn't win this time. I can't even.

We talk everyday here about the racism, hate and injustice in this country and somehow I still allowed myself to naively believe we had a chance to actually do better today. Racism, homophobia, inequality, discrimination...all strengthened leaps and bounds today. Truly heartbreaking no matter how you look at it.

As a medical professional this is one of the scariest thoughts for me. Heaven help the women of this country if our right to safe abortion is terminated. This is Trumps America though, clearly women arent suited to decide what's best for us...only the conservative white male can make those decisions. Women will die as a result of that conservative-driven ignorance and arrogance. Period.

 

I think the country is just as racist as it is sexist. Hate doesn't play favorites. I now won't leave the tri-state.

I used to rant on here talking about how many indicators of our society have declined before and under Obama's leadership and how/why America has turned into crap and how poorly things function.
