Yeah, not surprised. He also said, 'White people are INATELY racist." in·nate i?n?t/ adjective inborn; natural. (ps: l know you know what it means, just highlighting his absurdity)
Yep, K ^^^^ You act as if these Bills are exclusive. They always contain Provisions packaged into one, so while they may not be vetoeing infrastructure, it might be that there is an increase funding provision for Iran, for example. ( Both sides do this)
Yeah, but if you really care about an issue or cause, your write a clean bill and dare the other side to fuck it up with additional write-ins. There are different kinds of conservatives, I'll admit that. But the ones who populate Capitol Hill have a very specific constituency and it's not the American people as a group.
Really, AB? Justice Department drops case against arms trader who 'sold weapons to Libyan rebels' after he threatened to expose Obama and Clinton's role in arming extremists Felony charges against arms dealer Marc Turi are dropped in Arizona The trial would have started on November 8 - which is Election Day - His lawyers say he did not break the law and trial would have proved it - They claim charges were dropped because of awkward questions in Libya Excerpt: '..Marc Turi, an arms dealer who allegedly sold weapons to rebels in Libya has walked free after the Obama administration dropped charges amid claims the White House was worried about the trial showing Hillary Clinton in a negative light. Federal prosecutors had faced a deadline of today to turn over discovery documents to Marc Turi's legal team after he had been charged with selling weapons to Libyan rebels... Critics say the deal will avert a trial which could have cast more scrutiny on Hillary Clinton's private emails as Secretary of State and would have shed an uncomfortable amount of light on the CIA's attempts to fund rebels who fought Colonel Gaddafi. 'They don't want this stuff to come out because it will look really bad for Obama and (Hillary) Clinton just before the election.' His attorneys say the arms provided by Mr Turi were authorized by the US government as part of an effort to arm Libyan rebels.
Apparently, AB has never ever seen the Hillary video of her gleefully talking about Gaddafi's death: "we came, we saw, he died". Here, AB - it's 12 seconds long:
Yes there are. And Congress passed the Infrastructure Bill last December. So not sure why you think otherwise. Bill Passes The Senate approved the highway bill on an 83-16 vote. All but two Democrats—Senators Elizabeth Warren and Tom Carper—voted for it. Among the 14 Republican opponents were three of the four presidential candidates serving in the Senate: Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio, and Rand Paul. (Senator Bernie Sanders missed the vote.) Btw, AB...it is said only Democrats want to create jobs? Really? Perhaps the most important single provision in the 1,300-page bill had little to do with transportation. It was the renewal of the Export-Import Bank, the federal lending agency that Congress allowed to expire with its inaction over the summer. While relatively obscure to much of the public, the battle over the bank’s future had become a fierce fight within the Republican Party. Conservatives assailed it as a form of corporate welfare and crony capitalism that benefits giants like Boeing and G.E. that shouldn’t need government help. But along with most Democrats and under heavy pressure from business groups, moderate Republicans warned that its demise would cost jobs in their districts. Test votes in the House and Senate demonstrated that the Export-Import Bank maintained majority support, and in the end, Republican leaders did not object to its inclusion in the highway bill.
Okay, so we aided in the overthrow of a dictator?? WHen is that the wrong thing to do? Was the WH and the State Department wrong to pursue non-military regime change in Libya??
When is that the wrong thing to do? Have you ever heard of a little country called Iraq? How has that been working out for the Middle East now that Hussein is gone?
It's also working super well in Libya. The countries, the ME, and the world are MUCH better off without those people in power. Oh wait... So, why not also try Syria. ARE THEY INSANE? How many ME countries do they need to destroy before they finally get it? How many?
Libya and Iraq aren't the same situation. In Libya we armed rebels who were fighting to overthrow Gadaffi. In Iraq, we invaded that country based on a lie with no real plan for a transition from Saddam's dictatorship. Outside of invading countries and starting wars, the only real way to defeat dictators is by arming their enemies. You know, like when the French armed us during the Revolutionary War. Maybe you're a military isolationist. I don't know. But if we disengage ourselves from the world militarily, sooner or later we're going to have to deal with problems we ignored in the first place. I don't knock Hillary for how Libya went down. Most countries it seems that have suffered for decades under a tyrant aren't able to transition to representative government with a decades long occupation.
In my lifetime, I've gone from pro-war, to indifferent about war, to what I am now - a non-interventionist. I've become a 1960s hippie. LOL. But, what is most bothering me is how angry I am at my government. I am angry at all of the lying they've been doing since 9/11. I am angry at all of the corruption in my government. I am angry that it's getting worse and not better. I am angry that we invaded Iraq and caused chaos in that region. I am angry that because of our Iraq War we are now STUCK in the Middle East for decades. I am angry that the one candidate that has ever tried to become president that I fully agreed with and whom I felt was the most honest, caring, consistent politician to ever run has been beaten down by a horribly corrupt system and is now a shell of his former self. I am hurt and angry that this great man is being used and abused by the very party that fucked him over. I am angry that I no longer respect him. I am angry that Obama stayed silent about the vast corruption happening during the primaries. I am angry that Obama is now trying to sell Hillary as "democracy" when she didn't fairly win the nomination. I am angry at Bernie Sanders supporters who have become the most amoral people for supporting Hillary, who is the exact opposite of everything they stood for with Bernie. I am angry that Hillary's entire campaign is based on the sole fact that she's "not Trump". Fuck you. That's no reason to vote for you. I am angry that the media is focusing everything on anti-Trump and not focusing any kind of scrutiny on Hillary. I am angry about how everything went down with Hillary's email server investigation and the blatant corruption of the democrat party. I am angry at all of the democrats who have allowed their party to take away their democracy and are just "lining up behind Hillary" like it's the most normal thing in the world to have massive voter suppression and fraud. I am so fucking angry that our government is so blatantly corrupt and no one cares. I am angry that our politicians aren't forced to wear stickers proclaiming their sponsors. I am angry that our first of only 3 presidential debates was a complete sham and offered criticism of ONLY Trump and not Hillary. Fuck you, Lester Holt. I am so angry, I wish I could tell every last one of our politicians to go fuck themselves. #DoneWithThisElection #VotingMyConscience #JillNotHill
Wow talk about bold face lie. I never said anything of the sort. Proof please. Or you gonna throw it out there will no facts to back it up. How Republican of you.
Thank the war criminal Republicans for that one. Still searching for those weapons of mass destruction.
Yes facts something you right seems to hate. Who is in favor of deep austerity measures that cut food programs or shuts down schools. Which party totally pushes racist and xenophobic agendas? Who pushes for control of women's bodies? Who denies global warming in favor of environmental and health destructive policies. Hell who said publicly they would do everything to make sure Obama didn't get a second term even at the expense of the electorate? You honestly don't see the evil in that. People who trade lives and futures for money? Please show me anything they've done for tbe working class other than demonize us. Take your time I'll wait.
Great post, Bookie. My only disagreement is that the DNC somehow screwed Bernie over. The DNC didn't force people not to vote for Sanders. He won multiple primaries. He was competitive with Hillary for months, but he ultimately couldn't win states like California and NY. The DNC had nothing to do with that. Anyone running against Hillary for the Democratic nomination had to know Debbie Wasserman Schultz was a Clinton loyalist. That's just politics. As for Sanders, he was trying to backdoor his way to a party nomination for POTUS. He's never identified as a Democrat, yet when he decided to run for POTUS, Bernie switched it up. If the man was really true to his beliefs, he NEVER would have run for POTUS as a Democrat. I don't feel sorry for Bernie because in his own way he was trying to game the system and use the long established Democratic political machine to gain the office of President. At least you should take solace in the fact that Bernie forced Hillary to rewrite the entire Democratic platform at the convention to exclusively represent the progressive grass roots agenda. Say what you want about Hillary, but she's going to be forced to do the right thing in the Oval Office, or she risks being a one term president. Hillary is a political animal. The spirit of the country is populism and a system reset of our economy and government. HIillary IMO will adapt to maintain her office. You watch, she's going to be the greatest social justice warrior POTUS we ever had. In a weird way this reminds me of the actual FEAR Black folk had in my mother's generation when Kennedy was assassinated and his crusty, redneck, good ol' boy VP was sworn in as POTUS. There was a palpable fear LBJ was going to crush the Civil Rights movement. Instead what happened?? LBJ became the greatest champion for the rights and advancement of Black people since Lincoln. I really think Hillary is going to surprise people. Mr. 'I grab 'em in the pussy' is done. We might as well have the general election tomorrow.lol
You are not alone in your frustration and anger Books, http://www.apnorc.org/projects/Page...ricans-views-of-the-election-issue-brief.aspx "Seventy percent of Americans say they feel frustrated about this year's presidential election, including roughly equal proportions of Democrats and Republicans, according to a recent national poll conducted by The Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research. More than half feel helpless and a similar percent are angry. Nine in 10 Americans lack confidence in the country's political system, and among a normally polarized electorate, there are few partisan differences in the public's lack of faith in the political parties, the nominating process, and the branches of government. Americans do not see either the Republicans or the Democrats as particularly receptive to new ideas or the views of the rank-and-file membership." I have not been active in politics the last few years due to family obligations (work and taking care of ageing parents on both sides, grandparents and teenagers, as well as a whole menagerie of pets, are squeezing every second of every day out of my wife and I). But once the kids leave the nest to college in a few years I will dive back in. Anger, frustration, and feeling it is all futile are totally understandable emotions given the current political landscape, but one thing I am sure of is that it wont change until good people demand changes on BOTH sides and wont stop until they see improvements. I hope you find solace and encouragement in what im saying here Books.
