Sadly, this is going to be the end result of Trumpism. Something happens that you don't like? Just create your own reality and pretend that thing didn't happen in the first place.
I think the American experiment is on the verge of being over. When one party doesn't believe in democracy or the authority of the vote, there's no place left to go except down. Trump lost by over 7 million votes in 2020 and Republicans are still pushing the Big Lie that he actually won without one shred of evidence. When elections don't matter, this country doesn't exist anymore.
Shit is so deep, and why I get mad when people try to paint LBJ as a random Southern good ol' boy. The mindset LBJ described is why our democracy currently is in crisis. None of this is forever.
So much for pushing "democracy" all over the globe. Any moral leadership that the US could have claimed is gone now.
Well the Dems got punked by the Republicans and Mitch McConnell again. There will be no bipartisan congressional investigation into the January 6th insurrection, even though the Dems gave the GOP ALL the concessions they wanted. Why do the Dems even try to negotiate with these clowns? Kill the filibuster and have every vote be a simple majority. Let the American people see exactly who's screwing them.
I've come to the conclusion that the Dems are the jobbers (designated losers) and the GQP are the heels (bad guys). I quit voting for them in 2015.
https://twitter.com/ggreenwald/status/1399821255860183044 LOL, sounds like Obama's first 2 years in office all over again. While the media is constantly whining about the filibuster everyday, behind the scenes Senate Dems can't even get all 50 votes among themselves to even bother to put their controversial legislation to a vote.
