My post said FAR left. Key word being FAR. Don't be silly with the socialism examples. Just because I don't agree with full blown socialism doesn't mean I agree with "supply side" economics. Or libertarian ideas. Have I not expressed my discontent for "supply side" before? I've even suggested more Keynesian economic practices to curve recessions and help the poor. I'm just not with the Karl Marx bullshit.

And I know not all progressives are atheist. Are you fucking kidding me....Lol. I even pointed out that I'm not religious myself, so why do I care what they believe in? The point is TOLERANCE. Get it now? Don't pretend that there has never been religion bashing on this forum. That's your example of what I'm talking about.

Lol. Make a simple point and you two guys just prove how difficult it is for you to see any middle ground from your left point of view.

The for us or against us blue vs red mentality is overly simplistic and even childish at times.

What do you mean don't be cave man? Feminists believe women should be eligible for the military draft......need I say more.

The FAR right is repulsive but the FAR left is not at all appealing. I don't want any of that shit. Balance is key.

I'd be the first to agree that anything to an extreme is a bad thing, but in your list....

Feminism - Again, to an extreme I understand, but I also get why some women feel a need to advocate hard for themselves. The way I see it they simply want to be treated equally, especially in the workforce
Socialism - Plenty of services that we have (even take for granted) would fall under socialism. I'm OK with the idea of Capitalism, but it's gotten far too extreme where greed is rampant.
Guns - I have no issue with a person owning gun(s), but I'm all for common sense gun control. We heard all the talk about Obama is attacking the 2nd amendment and that he's going to take away everyone's guns.
I guess you'd say I'm a tree hugger. I do believe it's important to protect the environment.
On religion... I feel that we have Separation of Church and State for good reason, and it should stay that way.

    My take:

Feminism was an awesome idea when it was about equality, but it has turned into a victim cult.

I think strategic socialism is a good thing. Postal service, public libraries, interstate highways, public schools etc. Some things are better when done for the good of all.

Gender equality is great, but I balk when people start expecting men and women to behave the same way. The differences between men and women aren't a social construct like a lot of college sociology professors would have people think. The genders are biologically different, and those differences should be celebrated not dismissed.

I'm for strict gun control, the fewer guns the better.

I'm not exactly a member of green peace but I support any effort to curb the destruction of the environment. I'm also totally against sports hunting. Hunting for food is one thing but killing for fun troubles me.

Alcohol is the single most destructive drug the world has ever seen, and it's legal in 95% of the planet. so if legalizing (and heavily regulating) hard drugs can help curb the crime rate that comes along with illegal drugs, I'm not opposed to having a conversation about it.

I'm completely ok with legalized (and heavily regulated) prostitution. It would probably cut down on sex trafficking.

Since I consider myself a Christian, I am all in favor of religious freedom, but I also agree that church and state should be separate. Whether it's fair or not the left has gotten a reputation for walking away from religion, and I believe that is one of the reasons a lot of religious people support the (GOP) the only party that (seemingly) embraces them.

    Also:

    I'm pro-life.

    I'm anti-death penalty.

I believe the devaluing of the traditional family structure is a recipe for societal collapse

I believe the big banks should be broken up.

I believe that political correctness has become a tool for the intellectually dishonest to get away with silencing uncomfortable truths.

I believe college should be free.

I believe that healthcare is a fundamental right and not a privilege.

The thing about the Alcohol comparison, is that it makes perfect sense when you compare it to marijuana, but not when you compare it to crack, heroin or meth. Anything can be bad if you overdo it. A lot of people don't even drink to get drunk. I've never heard of people using meth not to get high.....lol

Everyone drinks to get buzzed though otherwise we'd all br drinking water and seltzer.
There's some really good research done by Columbia professor Carl Hart on addiction. You should check it out.

Drinking to get buzzed is not what causes the problems. Ive actually taken a biology course about the brain and drugs. Thanks but no thanks.

I was fortunate enough to meet with Lt. Gov. Steele on multiple occasions working on specific initiatives. Outstanding, very smart, family man with the highest ethics, we had some VERY memorable discussions regarding minorities and the GOP. I truly wish he had received more support during his term as leader of the RNC.

What were you offering? Some research done by one professor? Lol

Look man you stick to your far left views I'll stick to my moderate views. Simple enough.

For one thing, I've actually seen what drugs do to people and communities. One of my best Friends at the time even sold crack to his own mother. He was 14 at the time. I didn't need a course to see that. What were you doing at that time in bel air? Lol. Go ahead and send me the link on everything you know about drug addiction, can't wait....lol

[IMG] I consider myself a right-leaning Moderate (Center-Right) on Social issues & at least a left-leaning Moderate (Center-Left) on Fiscal/Economic issues. I pretty much agree with you on everything.

What were your thoughts on illegal immigration?

Keith Olbermann is a very outspoken anti-trump commentator, so im still researching this issue, but if what he says is true, this is VERY disturbing.

I think everybody has the right to want the best possible future for themselves and their family. However immigration should be done legally. I have immigrants in my family who jumped through a lot of hoops and spent thousands of dollars to LEGALLY come to America, so for their sake I have an issue with people who circumvent the rules.

It is indeed very disturbing. But not surprising. I did notice that Donald Trump had not shown signs of owning a pet. And I often wonder if he will even adopt a pet while in the White house as is tradition.

Now, I do understand that for much of his life, he's been an on-the-go person and perhaps having a pet would have been unfair to that pet because he would never be there.
I don't know if his children have pets or ever did.
I also despise his son's love of trophy hunting.

Having said that, as you know I'm an animal lover, but if you see the atrocities towards animals that I see on a daily basis, you will know that even under Obama's Administration, pets were not really protected from abuse at puppy mills, nor from research labs, or slaughter houses. Doing poisonous dog food business with China was never stopped by Obama, but by the consumer.

This attempt at eradicating abuse, if true, is one area that Trump will lose with everybody. The only way to fight back and circumvent any current governmental interference in the protection of animals, is to boycott, and get the SM word out and just don't buy puppies from puppy mills, and continue to caprure undercover videos in research labs and just expose expose expose. The consumer will take care of the rest.

As for Keith Olbermann's commentary, the only thing that I can say is that as much disdain as he has that Trump possibly may never have owned a pet, I would like to know where his video was on Obama, who ate a dog.

Yes, as a child living in another country/culture (Thailand) where dog meat is common, Obama admitted to eating dog. This has nothing to do with Trump taking steps to willfully remove protection and transparency when it comes to the protection of our pets, something Obama never did to my knowledge, for no other reason than for profit. As a pet owner (caretaker) this issue is very important and awareness needs to be raised, not a time for partisan mud slinging.

Lets attack the former president for something he did as a child and defend the current 70 year old president that acts like a child. Makes perfect sense.
