Keep fighting the good fight my dude.
Personally I can't stomach the never ending ignorance. One thing I will give dems is the willingness to learn and the ability to be corrected. The right truly believes in bullshit like alternative facts. We don't allow Michelle Bachmans or Trump like people rise to power. People who are completely void of intelligence. I don't know where conversations start in arenas like that and will they even want to listen to someone like me unless I totally agree

Like I said never met a centrist. I've usually seen libertarians but they're usually republicans without the religion.
I'm interested in reading some literature or being directed to a podcast or two

You are either very limited in your experience with or perception of people....no offense, but there is no other explanation, Other than cognitive dissonance.

I heard that this was Michael Steele's (former Maryland Lieutenant Gov) position as well.

If you say so somethings are clearly right and clearly wrong. There's no position that I feel so strongly about that would make me keep conservative company. I can not ignore the crude callous disregard for brown life I can ignore the constant collective agreement to hand power to people who at best try to govern women's bodies through b.s. morality and at worst try to take food out of the mouths of poor people.
They support evil incarnate, I don't see the Venn diagram where we overlap on anything real.

These are the FAR left ideas you can keep.
    1.) Feminism
    2.) Socialism
    3.) Gender Neutrality
    4.) Anti Gun
5.) The Idea that Trees and Animals are on the same level as people.
6.) The Idea that all drugs should be legal.
7.) The Idea that prostitution should be legal. ( I'm ok with letting states decide this issue)
8.) Anti religion ( I'm not religious but I understand that religion and culture overlap. Moderately religious people are just fine.) I understand my Diest views about a Creator and science or my religion of "learning" doesn't work for most people.

That's off the top of my head.

LOL. Most public services paid though taxes are a form of democratic socialism.
Unless you want a bill sent to you every time you have to call 911 for an ambulance or a fire truck. Or every time the town you live in fills in a pothole.
Feminism....far left idea??? Don't be cave man, Beasty.

And I'd dare say most progressives aren't atheists. That's a slur the right loves to promote so that evangelicals associate politics as being the same as their belief in God.

Lots of pastors, priests, imams and rabbis are big time liberals.
The real split between progressives and conservatives IMO is taxation and how that money should be spent.

But that's why said, blacks should ignore the left-right paradigm, it's NOT for them. Mike Huckabee got 48% of the black vote when he successfully ran as Gov. of Arkansas, on the Republican ticket. Blacks didn't vote him because he was Republican/conservative, but because he ran on education etc and things dear to black voters.

Comments like these are why Trump scares the hell out of me. I used to think he was just being lazy or stupid with his stats.
Now I realize most the lies he tells are on purpose, to scare the American people.
Even if Trump thought the national murder rate was the highest it's been in 47 years, why wouldn't someone on his staff correct his error??

Because telling these types of lies are a part of Trump's political agenda.
Scare enough American people and they will give the POTUS more executive powers, until he's basically a dictator.
Even Cheney and Dubya didn't tell obvious lies that could be fact checked in 2 minutes.
    Most politicians don't.

Part of the reason why I can't cosign anything conservative. That thinking allows this. When you give breath to this kind of monster they go on a rampage and destroy everything. I don't see the destruction in progressive ideas. Absolute worst case scenario people stay fat and get high.

And here's the thing about the far left progressive ideas won't allow them to completely dominate because the objective is never complete domination like conservatives. Regulation on guns don't equal ban, even in states like mine there are just restrictions not all out bans.
Progressives look for what's good for the collective not whats good for the individual at the cost of the collective.
And Boba pointed out socialism gets this really bad rep but already have it in so many forms and everyone is ok with it. Do you want to do away with social security Medicare and fixing roads? Is the ideal a world where everything privatized?
I think the problem with feminism is the attached pc nature of it. The policing of language to the point where you feel like you'll end up in HR if you just say hello. I get you on that point but I do believe in equality for all down with the patriarchy.
Prostitution should be legal, for someone who believes in freedom why not allow two adults to make that decision for themselves and tax the income. It removes the incentive for sex trafficking.
Same with drugs regulate it and watch the criminal activity drop dramatically. The reason it never will is because of prison unions.
And liberals have never been anti religion they've been anti shoving your religious beliefs down my throat. Good old separation of church and state.
