I have said I fully support Bernie but I drew the line on his call for Amnesty to 30 million illegals and giving them automatic citizenship. It's time to take stock of this country and protect it and stop protecting those who are here to use and abuse it.
yup... this is literally something that I will have to deal with as my mom happens to be one of those low income Americans. A bunch of rich jerks who do care about Americans. Even the ACA didn't go far enough but they want to reduce it.
My post is still there. SMH, still waiting for @webmaster to update the forum to include the Quote & Multi-Quote features so we don't have to copy & paste quotes across multiple thread pages. Also I went found another interview of Clifton Roberts & he says he is Blasian: http://vegnews.com/articles/page.do?pageId=7504&catId=6
how do you plan to deal with by the number you state 30 million(I don't believe it)? You can't gather them up. All of these people that have ran know it. They just don't want to tell the truth. I can understand if he means place them in the back of the line but you can't really move that many people. Obama has been the most effective at it and even he wasn't a good at it(I mean he even ended the wet foot dry land policy on the way out!!! I just loled because I was tired of it as a south Floridian.). At some point, you have to do what Reagan did.
To your first paragraph...it says it at the end.. "fend for themselves on the open market, using other tax credits and benefits." The second paragraph is troubling, no question..the old are of course more vulnerable and should be protected from the fear of increases ..but I do know of young people who previously had basic insurance Who could not afford the new copays or premiums and opted out all together. The bottom line is..is Obama care working for all? Or just the previously uninsured - at the expense of taxpayers. Keep in mind, the very poor and elderly always had medical govt assistance available ..so not sure why they are a part of the discussion .. In all, the fiscal burden of the ACA has fallen upon the majority of Americans who work and many rejected it at the polls. Why do you dismiss that?
amnesty.... I didn't agree with it. I felt like he should have put their butts in the back of the line and then gave higher taxes but w/e..... Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986 Reagan signed a bill giving amnesty to at least 3 million illegal immigrants
Gave Amnesty. But they kept coming after promising..ok..that was it. No more. We will respect your immigration laws.
How did they even come up with that 30 million number? That seems like Conservative/right-wing propaganda.
That's not the story. I'm not agreeing to it but Reagan had the belief that it would be impossible to round them up. He was correct. They folded on the idea of actually improving physical restrictions because big business needs immigrants to do their work. Since big business and Reagan were friends well... welcome to 2016.... Nowadays people hire contractors that then hire illegal immigrants as trump has done and Romney mistakingly almost did. All credit to Romney though... He told them off.
Benefits such as...? Price's plan is completely silent on that point. And depending on the kind of treatment you need a tax break (if the person even qualifies for one) may end up only being a drop in the bucket when it comes to actually covering costs. Letting people "fend for themselves" isn't any more of a solution than "don't get sick." The poor are part of the discussion because they were the people that the ACA covers; that was the entire point from the beginning. And the ACA being "rejected at the polls" (despite the guy behind the ACA being re-elected) doesn't have anything to do with the original point that I made a few posts ago: what is Donald Trump's actual, workable plan to cover people that are going to lose coverage when the ACA is repealed?
It is almost the size of California's population.... I think people would have noticed that many people. I can give you 10 million 15 even but not almost 10% of the nation...
Republicans just need to go ahead and cut the shit: they have absolutely no intention of replacing the ACA with anything meaningful. They've already got their coverage. Why would they give a remote fuck about anyone else?
I don't know man. I know the country is great and all but I don't think 30 million people would want to come here. We lost people during the recession too.
The way the U.S. sells itself in television/movies, the worldwide cultural effect, & being the richest nation in the world, I definitely buy that foreigners would want to come here.
but not at 30 million....Also europe is closer to the rest of the population on earth. Some of their countries have better education systems and healthcare. I love to hear the stories about how people come over here and see how much you have to struggle. Some run back home. As my father pointed out, it isn't what it use to be back in his time when he came in and drove a taxi and then studied to become a electrician. lyft uber..... automated cars will be here soon..... You basically have to already have money to get here.
FDR should be there!!!!!! Complete disrespect to the President that took out the Nazi.. AND he replaced the Lincoln Bust with a foreigner bust Why the heck is a drunk there!!!
Oh you mean like wealthy people who want to pay as little tax as possible while lobbying to keep wages low and exploit workers you mean that kind of protection? Or do we need protection only from the scary brown people who use next to nothing in services in comparison to companies like GE who make billions but get a damn tax refund lol
Yes you did see my response in that other thread because you responded to it. Bliss you keep trying to say that I'm somehow giving a pass to the violent protesters when I am certainly not. I contest you when you make claims that are flat out wrong. My response here was to your claim that trump supporters were not violent to BP, I showed you otherwise, now you want to "quantify" the violence because your were wrong and deflect by saying I'm equating the physical confrontations to those who were committing dangerous and unlawful acts yesterday. In my opinion you made increasingly wild and untrue claims about President Obama and to a lesser extent Hillary in the run up to the election, often times citing far right conspiracy sources that intentionally spread fake news. You reject true fact checking sites like Politifact, despite the rigor and transparency of their fact checking, based on (if memory serves) the opinion of others who do not show the same level of rigor and transparency.
