In this era of streaming where there is arguably too much good tv for me to keep up with, I can't settle for something like that.
March 30, 2020 On Monday, the CW revealed that Nancy Drew will return with new episodes starting Wednesday, April 8, and the following week, Riverdale and Katy Keene will do the same on Wednesday, April 15, and Thursday, April 16. Then, The Flash and DC's Legends of Tomorrow will zoom in with fresh installments on Tuesday, April 21, and their sibling series Batwoman and Supergirl will follow suit on Sunday, April 26. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, many of the network's shows, like the rest of the industry, shut down production before they finished shooting their current seasons. Following the production halt, the network replaced new episodes of The Flash and DC's Legends of Tomorrow, which already wrapped on season 5, with reruns for several weeks. Furthermore, this week, the CW will re-air the Arrowverse's most recent crossover, "Crisis on Infinite Earths," in place of new episodes of some of its other shows. Unfortunately, there were a couple of CW favorites that weren't included in the announcement. First, there's Supernatural, which aired the last completed episodes of its final season last week. As showrunner Andrew Dabb revealed, the show has shot through episode 18, but the effects and sound departments are closed and so those episodes can't be finished. Similarly, Legacies has also run through every episode that was completed before the shutdown and will return to finish out its current season once shooting resumes later this year.

Free HBO Programming to Be Offered Starting April 3 In advance of the launch of streaming service HBO Max, HBO will seek to ease the act of social distancing by making 500 hours of programming available free for a limited time, under the heading #StayHomeBoxOffice. The promotion kicks off April 3, and will include free streaming of such series as "The Sopranos," "The Wire" and "Veep," as well as HBO documentaries and an assortment of Warner Bros. movies. Many of the films are aimed at kids or a family audience, such as "Pokemon Detective Pikachu," "Smallfoot" and "The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part." The programming will be available to stream without a subscription on HBO Now and HBO Go. Other series included in the promotion are "Succession," "Barry," "Silicon Valley" and "Ballers," as well as the older titles "True Blood" and "Six Feet Under." Credit: CNN
I read the first 2 issues of the comic and the sideways LGBTQ content is baked into the cake. No wonder Netflix bought this. Eyeroll
It's just annoying when they shoehorn it in and it's not even germane to the plot. It's gratuitous. Meanwhile they did backflips to keep Finn from hooking up with Rey in Star Wars even though they themselves set up that dynamic. SMDH
I am not sold on JJ Abrams in one major way. He has difficulty with black male characters. We are always asexual or potentially gay in his works. Lost is a prime example. But, he does it to other men of color, too (Sulu on Star Trek is a prime example). But, some of that goes a bit deeper than that from my perspective as someone who is halachalically Jewish (Jewish mother), and my issues with how many in Hollywood portray black male characters. But, that is a very long conversation for another day.
CW Pushes Back Dates For New Seasons The CW has released its schedule for the upcoming season, pushing back most of its programming to dates it believes will allow it to produce the shows after emerging from pandemic shutdowns, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Rather than launching its new season in October, the first wave of new shows will begin airing in January, including Superman & Lois, Flash, Black Lightning, Riverdale, Nancy Drew, and Batwoman. A second wave of shows will debut at some point later, including Supergirl and Kung Fu. The Arrowverse crossover for the new season will include only two shows, Batwoman and Superman & Lois. https://icv2.com/articles/news/view...ckson-disney-cw-pushes-back-dates-new-seasons
I have a little issue with the trailer here that I have also noticed that the trailer for CURSED did. The synopsis of this unique show has Amanda Collins playing Mother and Abubakar Salim playing Father... ...but he is barely mentioned or seen in the trailer. You don't know who he is until you read the synopsis. You would think with him being Father he would have a larger role. It's intriguing and different concept though. I will stay on the look out for it.
Par for the course during the feminist takeover of entertainment, the man is an afterthought. The "Mother" looks like they made a girl clone of Chris Evans.
The same thing happened with the trailer to CURSED but when you actually watch the show and the intro they have Devon Terrell(Arthur) as the male lead. So it could be the same here where for some reason they barely mention the black male lead in the trailer. I noticed that with other shows as well. Not sure of the play with that.
Antebellum Film to Debut on PVOD Antebellum, a time-bending horror film starring Janelle Monáe, is the latest movie to premiere on digital rental platforms in lieu of its planned theatrical release as coronavirus cases continue to spike. Written and directed by Gerard Bush and Christopher Renz, the film was initially expected to debut in theaters in August. But since there’s no telling when cinemas, which have been closed since March, will be able to reopen, Lionsgate is debuting “Antebellum” on premium video-on-demand services on Sept. 18. The film will be available to rent for $19.99. However, Antebellum isn’t entirely eschewing the big screen — it will be released in some international movie theaters. https://rb.gy/3lx43s
