Just got back from Japan. It was sick as fuck. I wish I was stationed there.

Nothin' much man. About to enjoy the 5 days I get off from work.

First off, the Japanese LOVE to drink and I drink 2 or 3 times a year, so I'm thinking "shit". At the end of our training exercise, the U.S. and Japanese soldiers had this huge social and we all got drunk as fuck. Sake and beer for all(and drunk US and Japanese soldiers shouting "KAMPAI" at the top of their lungs!!!)

It was funny going to restaurants n' shit with my sergeant because he's Japanese but isn't from Japan and doesn't speak the language. So we go to this restaurant and the waitress comes up to us to take our order and she looks right at my sergeant and starts rapid fire Japanese and she's just looking at him like he knows what the fuck he's saying and has the most clueless look and goes "uuuhhhh, I'm sorry". This happened several times throughout the trip.

And the we had this annoying ass Specialist who went with us and was in our tent. He's this weird vegan from Santa Cruz and I have nothing against vegans, but this dude doesn't help the whole "weird vegan" stereotype. No wonder people in the army talk so much shit on California. This weird He's 27 but acts like a fucking 14 year old. He's the kinda mufucka that ALWAYS asks questions or he'll go off on some other tangent right after he asks it. He was asking my sergeant about stocks and then halfway through my sergeant explaining it, dude asks "so, do you want kids?" He's like ".........what?" And god damn, this fool is the WORST to order food with. He makes it an all day process. I swear the ice in our water melted before he finished. The first night at the same restaurant, he asked the waitress if they had unagi or something and she clearly shook her head 'no', and yet the moron proceeds to ask if they have it three more times until we all have to say "they don't have any fucking unagi!" The waitress got so flustered that she went in the back and got the other waitress to finish taking our order. And he's been to Japan before while most of us haven't and he's asking us "how do you say 'how much' in Japanese?" My other sergeant is like "I don't know! I don't speak fucking Japanese! I must've gotten rusty when I was stationed in GERMANY." And then this fool gets excited over stupid shit or the wrong shit. I can't remember the last time I saw a grown man skip.....indoors...at the mall....and for like 3 days, we were freaking out trying to find a bank that would take our cards since we didn't exchange enough US dollars for yen, so we're asking random Japanese where the nearest US friendly bank is at. Then Dumbshit Specialist is like "This is SO cool!!! Isn't it?! We're in Japan asking people where the bank is!" I reply, "you know what wold be even cooler? Having money to do things while still interacting with the Japanese, fool."

And here's the kicker about Dumbshit Specialist. The entire first week, he was all jumpy, giddy n' shit going on about how "we're in Japan!!! How many people get to do this?" But when it comes time for the social, where we get to relax, shoot the shit and get to know our Japanese counterparts(and get drunk with), this mufucka wants to stay in the tent like a fucking shmuck. He did this twice. Just talking about that fool makes me angry. Onto the good shit then...

So yeah, the Japanese are extremely nice and fun to be around. I gave a few soldiers my unit patch or rank or name tape and then gave me their rank in return. I took a bunch of picture with them....but it was with their phones so I don't have any pictures with the Japanese soldiers. We went on a bunch of tours and saw some castles n' everything. We went to Osaka, which was cool but had nowhere near enough time to find out what was good around there. Oh, and I got sick. Luckily, I didn't have the flu, otherwise I would've been quarantined for 5 days. But the staff was really nice. The nurses were so cute!!! And even cuter when they would giggle when they got nervous using English. :smt054 But sleeping on those hospital beds were no joke. That shit sucked ass. It was like sleeping on wrestling mats. I woke up and my back felt like it went through park bench with the help of the Undertaker. Also, getting check for the flu sucks. They stick this long ass stick up your nose. I guess I have an idea of how getting tested for STDs goes. Ouch.

The food was bomb as fuck, but there was this on place on post that made 'American' food and that place had the "American Potato Set", which came with a cheeseburger, fries and CHICKEN NUGGETS!!!!!! Needless to say, I went there about 5 times in 4 days. And then I also had McDonalds out there. It was even better with the cute cashiers. Oh yes, I was in surrounded by angels.
