Get him girl! You need to put that Christmas spirit on him... Or at least put something on him. Ha!

Dweb, as much as you got holiday humor, and as much I love to see him in the holiday spirit, it's his choice. Lets be realistic here: he's in his 20's, he doesn't have a wife (yet! ;D), so I can understand where he's coming from. Bt I really am sending him a Christmas present though and that should make him happy.

If I did have a family with me, things would be much more upbeat and perky. I'm use to being alone and alienated from a lot of people, though I've been out and about more as of late. I'm sure I'll smile with the gift, but it'll just be a temporary smile to my face.

There's no Christmas spirit in me...the kid in me has been long gone for a while now and as it stands, I still see it as just another day.

Hey I'm your best friend! It's my job to worry! It's also my job to make sure I do my stuff to keep our friendship/relationship (sorta...) intact. :p

You shouldn't worry about me. It's just a natural state of being for me. I'm use to this. The only other saving grace would be snowfall, but that hasn't happened in a long time. So, I'll keep myself alive for the day, but it'll just be another meaningless day for me in which I can say, "Time to relax."

Nah, it's hot. 5.48am and I'm wide awake because even with a fan, the heat is prickly

    It's your star shine, girl.

We seemed to be on some kind of opposites weather thing.
    It's cold here.

I can't believe it ever gets cold there. For some reason I thought it would always be warm

Man, do you have the winter blues? I get them too, but hang in there.

I wouldn't say I have the blues. I'm just not someone who would celebrate something because everyone else is doing it. I always look at it as more of a family thing, especially for children.

Christmas = presents, snow, and family time
Halloween = Costumes, parties, and candies
Easter = Bunnies, candy, and (if you're Catholic) Lent
    Thanksgiving = Turkey/Ham, family gatherings
New Years = Fireworks and getting drunk
Independence Day = Fireworks and getting drunk in the name of (faux) patriotism.

This is absolutely insane. Another few days of this madness. Maybe our immune systems are getting to the best of us.

Ditto. I only celebrate holidays if I have my son with me, because I think it's important for him. If he's not with me, I use it as an occasion to eat pizza, sleep in and watch the Sci-Fi channel.
