    that's why u shop around :p

my 1 bedroom comes out to about $165/wk, located in a better area of the city

in the ghetto..that could easily be 100-110/wk for something bigger, but in a more shitty area

Yeah, absolutely. I've been looking for a while now. It just suprises me the prices people want for some of these shit holes. But I did find a really nice place in a good area (it's small, but not tiny), and there's a smaller place for rent just up the street from where I'm living now. So, two possibilities, plus the one I applied for yesterday. Fingers crossed. I just want something closer to town and away from drama. :)

Oh and I WISH you could get a place for 100-110 here. Holy hell, that's cheap. I think I'd put up with the more shitty area for that price. Your's is cheap too, though. 165?! You can't find a place for that around here. 170 is the cheapest I've seen and that was a one off.

Oh I know it's a business. I have family who have investment properties. And WOW! That place is gorgeous!!!! Wish that was in Australia. LOL I'd snap that up in a second..well, I'd try to. :p There's probably be thousands of people turn up to apply for it, at that price.

$225 for a 3 bedroom house is a good price, Mama. And the shitty part of town isn't always as shitty as people think it is. The one I'm hoping to get is in the good end of a bad street, but the street really isn't all that bad (so I've been told by residents who live there, and a few who lived there years ago when it was suppose to be REALLY bad).

She's right. Minimum wage here isn't usually (or ever?) lower than $18 an hour for an adult. You can work at McDonalds making burgers and still have no problem paying your rent.

damn....yeah if u were makin 18 dollars/hr flipping burgers, ud be able to pay rent and have a car here

sadly minimum wage is a fucking joke..it's like 7 or 8 dollars an hour

Exactly, which is why we don't have the tipping system over here (thank god, that shit confuses me)

Okay I was on my iPhone just now and when I wanted to view this site from it, it said this:

"This domain has just been registered for one of our customers!"

However, I'm on my laptop and the pc version works just fine, and I never had trouble viewing this site with my iPhone 4S. My browser I use on there is Chrome, same for this laptop, and I'm updated on iOS 6.0.1.
    What's going on?????

Perhaps it has something to do with the IP address change, webby mentioned? Not sure.

That might be the number one reason why. If that's the case, that's fine--I thought it's a glitch again. :p

18$ and hour? In American money?
There's got to be a catch somewhere in there.

Not that America is all that grand anymore. Actually pretty much sucks now days to be an American.

It's amazing the shit you have to do to prove you live in a state and where born in the states and never even left the effin' country.

And minimum wage is legally 7.25 and hour.

If the amount of minimum wage as it was in the 70s had kept up with the pay increases of most big business CEO the average American would make roughly 23 dollars and hour.

If you compare it to what they made in the 70s, factor in the increases of COLA most Americans make less now than the average American made working minimum wage in the 70s.

    Yeah...

Nothing wrong with that at all.

Work more for less and have less left over after you've worked your ass off for less.

    Groovy.

My love of sushi will make me a poor man.

    Note to men:
Never go out with a woman who wants sushi!

    9oz@ about 5.99 where I work.

not that bad but I guess it's more expensive and maybe better quality at a nice sushi bar

doesn't matter how much money you make tho..we all have our vices and if you don't live within your means, you'll definitely be 'working poor'
