You need to stop calling your cousin hot NC! She won't be targeted for being in an interracial relationship/having a baby by a black man. Like Swazi mentioned, Britain is not at all discrimination free but when it comes to racism, it's directed towards Muslims/Eastern European immigrants because of the flood of them over the last few years, as well as their rejection of Britain and it's culture. Ask certain BRITISH Muslims here what they see themselves as, and they will NOT say British. Ask Black British people and they will say British, even if both subjects in question are second or third generation. What British people don't like is the piss-taking that some immigrants do. With Muslims especially, certain extremists come here, spit and curse about how much they hate England, English people and English culture, talk about how the British soldiers dying are scum and will burn in hell and interfere with parades and then get benifits from the government, a four bedroom house and a Range Rover. I want to say that this only happens once in a while but I have personally seen it a lot. A Pakistani family lives on my best friends road with eleven family members in one house. It's a council house. None of them have jobs. They have a big house and two cars because of the government and yet they claim to hate England and English laws. Quite a few articles have been provided here with horrible, horrible racial attacks on black people but trust me, there are few. I think it's Asian (middle eastern) people who suffer the most racism here, as well as Eastern Europeans. My Indian friend came to see me after I finished work one time, and he was told to 'GO BACK TO PAKISTAN, YOU DIRTY PAKI' and one of my Polish friends' parents had their shop burnt down. DenzBenz, are you English?
An African friend was telling me about a Television programme he saw about Right wing extremist in Russia. One political group wishes to deport all non Russians and take the passports from Russian women who marry blacks.
Any Black man who goes to Russia needs their head checked(apart from Bryant). It is probably the most racist country in the world in my opinion.
That's about the same guy, but it's not the same article. That one I read earlier was longer and much more in depth about his views.
I remember some racist rant years ago by a Russian who wished all blacks on the planet be exterminated by AIDS. Do they (The Russians) not have one of the highest AIDS rates in the world? Be careful what you wish for I say. Oh, I guess it comes from them screwing all those African women they hate.
It aint no picnic, thats true. Especially if you are speaking about the crime situation. But the crime isnt only directed at white people, everyone is a target. As for the job opportunities for both races. They have affirmitive action(called BEE).Depending on which side of the fence you sit on, you may consider this racist. But the Black majority are being given a leg-up in the corporate world, where they previously had no opportunity. Of course a lot of white are gonna say its racist, they had a monopoly on all the top jobs, and now they dont. Race relations are gonna take a while, but they are improving. To be honest both countries are quite bad for race relations. South Africa is understandable, but in Russia there is no reason why they should hate black people so much. Being a Black man I would feel safer in South Africa then in Russia. Hence me saying Russia is probably the most racist country in the world. I have read so many articles where Russians group together and target Blacks.
Not just Russian women who marry blacks, Russian women who marry any foreigner. My mum is married to an English man and when she went back to visit family not long after she got married, she got kept in a police station for three days for no reason at all. She hasn't been back for about 8 years now.
Like everyone has said, racism in Britian is mostly directed at Middle Easterns/Eastern Europeans. Which is horrible, but you wouldn't get any hassle. And if you did, it'd be for being a yank, not black.
Institutional racism keeps black teachers out of top posts in the UK Only a handful of black and ethnic minority teachers are made headteachers each year because of an "endemic culture of institutional racism" in England's schools, a study claimed today. Researchers at Manchester University and analysts at Education Data Surveys quizzed 556 state school teachers from ethnic minorities for their report. They asked the teachers what had helped or prevented them from being promoted and whether they had faced discrimination. Ethnic minorities make up 10.1% of the population of England but only 1% or fewer of the headteachers in primary and secondary schools, according to data gathered by the teaching unions. Only 2.6% of teachers are Asian, while 1.7% are black and 0.8% are of mixed race, data from the Department for Children, Schools and Families from last year shows. Some 44% of the teachers quizzed said they had suffered discrimination because of their ethnicity and 70% said it was harder for teachers from ethnic minorities to become headteachers than it was for white teachers. The study, The leadership aspirations and careers of black and minority ethnic teachers, which was commissioned by a training college for aspiring headteachers - the National College for Leadership of Schools and Children's Services - and teaching union Nasuwt, concludes that the findings are "indicative of an endemic culture of institutional racism". Chris Keates, general secretary of the Nasuwt, said: "This report reveals the true extent of the problem of racism and discrimination that, regrettably, is still all too pervasive in our schools." Black Caribbean children held back by institutional racism in UK schools Black Caribbean pupils are being subjected to institutional racism in English schools which can dramatically undermine their chances of academic success, according to a new study. Researchers have uncovered evidence that teachers are routinely under-estimating the abilities of some black pupils, suggesting that assumptions about behavioural problems are overshadowing their academic talents. The findings, based on a survey which tracked 15,000 pupils through their education, add weight to the theory that low achievement among some black students is made worse because teachers don't expect them to succeed. Black education groups welcomed the evidence, calling for urgent measures to be taken to stamp out any covert racism in schools. Dr Steve Strand from Warwick University, the author of the study, concludes that "institutional racism" and low expectations by teachers explain the missing black Caribbean students from top-tier exams. IS BRITAIN FOR BLACKS? Most Jamaicans say racism too high The first major poll among Jamaicans in Britain has found that they believe there is a staggering level of racism in their adopted homeland. The survey, commissioned by The Sunday Gleaner and conducted by Bill Johnson from March 17 to 27, found that a great majority of Jamaicans in Great Britain believed the dark spectre of racism had intensified in recent years. A whopping 96 per cent of the sample, when asked whether they believed racism existed in Britain, responded with a resounding yes. The poll, which has a sample of 400 Jamaicans - born in Jamaica or in Britain of Jamaican parentage - was conducted in several black communities across England. It has a margin of error of plus or minus five per cent. Of the Jamaican-born respondents, 95 per cent said they believed racism existed in England, while 96 per cent of the English-born respondents said they believed there was widespread racism.
