Commenter wrote (paraphrasing)...."Someone please tell her where Caucasia is, so she can visit the motherland." Lmao!
Oh yeah...she's Black. https://hater site.files.wordpress.com/2015/06/rachel.jpg?w=700 So wanna caption what the 2 guys are thinking...
I personally don't understand why it is that Rachel claiming she's black matters. Why is it news worthy? And why are so many people offended? Including African Americans? Is the offense that she lied? Why is it a lie if that is what she believes she is? If the offense organizational (i.e. she violated NAACP rules), then the offense is understandable. But why are normal everyday people offended? Not convinced? Ask yourself this... Why is it that America celebrates when a man goes through a sex operation and now calls himself a woman? Go through the headlines and you'll read hundreds of writers celebrating gender ambiguity. But when it comes to racial ambiguity -- and race isn't even an accepted paradigm by the American Anthropological Association -- both some African Americans and some white Americans squirm and yell treachery! Again... more evidence of American media dividing and confusing people about things that really don't matter.
What makes you think that people are not capable to being concerned with more than one situation or issue at a time? Just because people are expressing opinions, concerns, frustrations, whatever about this, doesn't mean they are not even more concerned about other issues. This discussion (as any of the others on here) is a very small snippet in most people's lives. Some think it's a big deal, others do not. No different than anything else that comes up really. There are those who are outraged over things and those who are not. Chances are pretty high that people will not change their opinions, but there is nothing wrong with discussing them. We all have the choice as to whether or not we want to read or participate in it. For some, integrity is very important...especially when it comes to those who are holding themselves out as advocates and/or leaders.
I have no doubt that news readers are capable of being concerned about multiple issues at any given moment. But that's not the issue. The topic has to do with Rachel Dolezal's identification and claim with being black. There is no historical precedence that I can recall of for a white woman being denied affiliation and claim of being black. Historically, the one drop rule prevented others from being white. And historically, white men prevented white women access, as well as dating and relating with black men. Not the other way around.
Amazing. Compared to the church killings...its nothing...but its an interesting discussion. Also the fact that she disowned her parents and claim shes not white.... Well darn why even bother
In the Black newspaper in my city in Raleigh the chief reporter mentioned the tall tales Ms.Dolezel made like saying her Black dad belonged to the Oakland Ca Police Department and fooled a friend of hers. Before she was outed by her White parents a TV news reporter was investigating a slew of hate crimes she reported that was not true. Bliss, that is the first time I had seen that photo. Also,I saw tape footage of her with her skin darkened like almost Blackface.
