Exactly.

So that would mean that all of us who used to be out in the sun all the time were trying to be blacker, and then when it came out about how bad it was to be in the sun so much and we started staying out of the sun, using sunblock etc we were trying to be whiter.

Not to mention that it's difficult to tell what shade someone's skin really is by any of the media pics, they are all doctored.
