R.I.P Clarence Clemons

    The "Big Man," saxophonist Clarence Clemons, has died in Palm Beach, Florida, from complications of a stroke he suffered last Sunday. The beloved 69-year-old musician was born in Norfolk, Virgina, in 1942 and met his most famous collaborator, Bruce Springsteen, at an Asbury Park, New Jersey bar during a lightning storm in 1971. He became a member of the group later known as the E Street Band the following year when the Boss began recording his debut album. For nearly four decades, Clemons provided the soulful blasts that helped define Springsteen's signature sound.

    This is tragic indeed. He was a good musician and friend of The Boss. I give my condolences to his widow.

    New Jersey to honor Clarence Clemons

    (CNN) --
    This gesture is a clear example of how great music can cut through so many barriers that people have towards one another it is no secret that Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band are self-avowed liberals.

    Despite this conservative Republican Gov. Chris Christie seems to sincerely have a deep love for their music, which if you have ever been to or watched a Springsteen concert you know his music cannot be fully separated from his politics.
