To anyone who has been or know about it.
Do white african women (born in south arica, but white.) date black men there?

It was something that I've always thought about ever since I learned charlize theron was from south africa when she won the oscar, but everytime I meant to bring it up on the forums it has slipped my mind so that is why I entitled it Question of mines pastdue

:smt017 ...agreed, I'd welcome some education on that...although the OH-10 is worlds away from S. Africa.

There are some mixed couples. Mostly in the cities. They seem to be mostly white man-black woman though...

The majority of the couples are quite young (20-something), but some also have an older man and a much younger woman...

It's only 14 years since the apartheid was completely abolished, so one can't really expect too much yet...

I've never lived in South Africa so its hard for me to speak on the issue. There are a few interracial couples in Nigeria though. (As i've said millions of times, i lived in Nigeria for the most of my young life). Since my dad worked for the United States Foreign Service, the community i lived in - it's called Victoria Island - was an expatriate community mainly consisting of expatriates, diplomats, foreign workers and businessmen as well as wealthy Nigerians.

The couple that lived next to us in Victoriawere a mixed one. The man was a black Canadian and his wife was a white French woman. There was also another white American diplomat who worked with my dad in the U.S. Consul in Nigeria that married a Nigerian man she met there.

I cannot speak for all of Africa but in West Africa, you'd find many interracial couples, unsurprisingly, in the expatriate and diplomatic community.

WELL im actually straight from Johannesburg SA......lived there for a while before i moved to canada a few years ago..

Are there interracial couples in SA. When i lived there one of my boys tried getting with a white girl. He was walking down the street and saw this long legged girl with never ending hair....He whistled at her......and Lets just say, a few days later he was chased down the road by a group of boers with cricket bats, and didnt think of doing that again.

Do white south african women date black men? Of course -if they find you attractive theres nothing anybody can do about that. However they are pretty content with their white male freinds, and boyfriends. so to get her attention youd have to be an expensional of some sort. I actually used to date white women all the time back in SA. But that i believe was because i was an athlete and ran track for the provincial squad and also played rugby fo the national team. Id be sittin in the stands by myself and a flock of young boere girls would run to me sayin hi and shit. But that just me though...lol

Another friend of mine got badly beaten once and was hospitalized by a group of white men, after being spotted with a white chick. And the thing is it doesnt really matter if the girl likes you or not. Chances are if the father himself doesnt liek you, he's gonna find someone (usually his sons) to whoop your ass and make sure you kno the reason...

Another thing to take into consideration is playing rugby, eating biltong, and making braai. Rugby is a religion in south africa, and if youre black, and you play rugby and youre good at it??..white fathers will be scouting for you and you will get recruited to marry their daughters...lol....only usually though

so like i said. White women in SA are like any other white women out there. Intellectually and personality wise to me they are all the same. They think the same and if you could get rid of the accent, you'd realize that they sound the same.....And They usually stick to white men in most occasions making the exception only if they find you extremely attractive. But thats not the end though, cuz her dad still has to accept you, and if he doesnt he'll let you know whats up, and if you dont listen, well,,,,tompis pour tois

Oh, biltong is sooo good. I bring home several kilos of it every time I'm down there.

BTW: It should be against forum regulations to mention food while there's pregnant women on the board...

It's a sort of dried meat. But it's not like American "jerky" (or the dried meats we have here). I don't know what they've done to it, but it just doesn't taste the same. Perhaps they add some secret spices or something. :)

If you already like dried meat, you'll probably like biltong too.

Any meat can be used btw: beef, deer, ostrich...

Thx for the insight bruh. Damn people just don't like us with white women.

BTW, what is a boere girl?

    "Dutch" SA white girl.

The boers are the "Dutch" South-Africans...

why not just call them dutch south africans?

Oh okay, I heard of them before.

Because they're not Dutch citizens. They're the offspring of the Dutch colonizers. They call them self boers, and are known as boers. They even got a war named after them (Boer war). They've lived in SA for centuries, and still talk "Dutch", but call it Afrikaans. Afrikaans is one of SA's official languages btw.

Many of them are extremely proud to be boers, and won't stop bragging about it (at least not to me when I'm there as a tourist). They seem to be very traditional, and apparently totally unaware that the term "boer" will give a lot of people very negative associations...

Hmmm....interesting point. South African white women will occasionally date black men. White South Africans can roughly be divided into two groups, the Afrikaners (mainly Dutch and some of French descent), and those of British descent. Well as Ronja has mentioned the boeres (Afrikaners) are very proud. Its is very rare for them to date a black person. A lot of them will complain about their Afrikaner culture being dissolved in the new South Africa (Post 1994). A group of Afrikaners have even gone to the extent of buying their own town (Orania), where blacks can’t buy any property. Even if a black man did date an Afrikaner, im pretty confident they would get flak from their relatives and the relationship wouldn’t last. There problem isn’t so much the younger generation, it’s the older generation. Many are still very much stuck in their old ways (apartheid). Having said that, you will occasionally meet the more liberal old Afrikaner (covering myself from the generalization brigade :) ), buts it’s definitely not the norm.

The second group, the ones of British origin. Well, they tend to be a bit more liberal when compared to their fellow Afrikaners. A Black man definitely has a better chance of dating within this group. Also in South Africa, social standing counts for lot. So if you are wealthy, well educated black man, you have a very good chance of dating a white South African (British origin). In fact one the richest black South Africans (Tokyo sexwale) is married to white South African woman. I also think if you are a Black man from the USA or the UK you also stand a better chance.

blackmasterJay, you say you have dated a lot of white South African women. What years were you living there? It’s interesting you say that cos my friends out there struggle to get dates with white women. They are like gold dust out there.

And Ronja, you sure you not an African in disguise? You know so much about Africa!

    Perhaps in a previous life?

No, I've just always had a fascination for Africa ever since childhood...And I've gotten to travel a bit... Except from Kenya, I've only been to southern Africa though (for economic reasons. They often have cheap tickets to SA and then I rent a car or catch a bus to the neighbouring countries...)

    And I've lived a "long" life (I'm 32) :)

    I lived there between 1993-1999

Like I said, if you personally get invloved in the boer culture, they will be more willing to date you, but its gonna be a problem for HER dad, unless,,,,and only unless you became a boer with black skin....a colored maybe??..lol..nah, you will just have to be in that position to find out. Some fathers will accept you if you play rugby incredibly...but i dunno

iM NOT SAYING im special or nothing. But white girls at school used to have crushes on me,,,,pretty much all the time. And iim not talking about the loser white girl type, im refering to the type that all the boys wanted. Usually she was a "head girl" of the school and the cleverest girl aroundl...lol....no joke.

O will however admithat south african ww are NOT easy, even boer guys dont get that much play from these girls. So tell your boys to move to canada......they will get laid here any time of the week....

    later
