Question about russian women....

I'm glad to see that there are couple of russian women here. But this question is for everyone.

I met a russian lady last year, but didn't recognize the accent. When I asked where where she's from she said "russia" and then said immediately -- & in all seriousness -- "Don't be scared."

I'm like :shock: :?:

Do russian women have bad reputations in the U.S.? If so, why?

I've heard stuff about the russian mob, & of course, I know about immigration schemes & such, but I've never thought of russian women as any more notorious than any other group... In fact, they seem to be more friendly toward me as a group than many other kinds of immigrant women...

So why would she say that? Anyone have a clue?

 

I have no idea. Maybe the whole dial-a-bride thing, Russian and Thai women are well known for it. Or maybe the mafia type thing, I don't know!

I heard that in Europe and Turkey, and in some other countries, Russian women have the reputation of being "easy", but that's because a lot of the ones that are already in Europe, are trying to make it by prostitution. Therefore the stereotype...
It sound like your friend was joking - maybe referring to the Socialist past and the iron curtain... Russians like a good joke.

Nope, she was serious... It sounded as if she had anticipated that I would be turned off to find out she's russian... (We had been "eyeing" each other for a week or two before I broke the ice...)

In actuality, I had dated a russian woman before (who had grown up in uzbekistan)...

 

I know a few men who have done the Russian bride thing. I do not know there reputations regarding social status among Americans; but the men are quite happy with their marriages. For me, Russian women are just too dependent, that is just my query. But, any Russian women whom I have met has always been friendly. On a side note, what is with the name Olga anyway?

I've met russian women because I live in nyc, have an eye for ww, I'm quite presentable, and there's a certain streak among russian women who are interested in dating a bm like me. Even older russian women have tried to "chat me up" on the subway, & the old cleaning lady at my old job also took a liking to me -- nothing romantic, but they just seem to know I'm not a "bum" & are curious about me.

It could be that unlike u.s. women, russian women discriminate between the bums and the upright when it comes to bm -- maybe they have some insight, "an eye", like american women should, but largely don't.... (To most american women, we're *all* bums...)

Anything I had to say would only be a guess. No telling really. But, I did want to say that Russia has some very beautiful ladies. They had one very young (18 or so) Russian girl on Cheaters. She was extremely beautiful. The accents are very nice also.

 

A couple of months ago, I corresponded with a Russian woman I met over the internet. She had pale skin, fiery red hair and she would write me the sweetest messages in broken English. She would also e-mail me pictures of herself, with each photo being sexier than the previous one.

I was definitely attracted to her, but the distance between us was too of an obstacle. It's one thing if I'm in Georgia and she's in Canada, but I don't know many black men who travel to Russia. I tried to tell her about this in my e-mails, but I believe there was a slight language barrier because if I asked her a question, I would never get a real answer. And the more she e-mailed me, the more she talked about her virginity (even though she's 26) and she said that her feelings for me were growing stronger and she's sure she wants to marry me. I tried to ask her questions about why she liked me so much but again I'd never get a straight answer. So I just stopped e-mailing her altogether.

I'm still wondering if I encountered a scam or did I just throw away a chance at meeting a good woman? She seemed a little too good to be true for me and that caused me to give up on her.

Russian women are some of the sexiest women on the face of the earth. Every time Maria Sharapova is on TV, my eyes are glued to the screen. Those long legs, facial features, alluring eyes and not to mention her primal screams that she unleashes when she plays tennis are enough to drive an alpha male insane! To me, she is sexier than Serena and Venus Williams put together. Russian women are also strong women because they don't grow up spoiled like some of these American women are.

Obviously you're not down wit hip-hop -- that's OK. I was specifically referring to Russian women in my post. Back in the early-'90s when the Russian women/Westerm men dating/marriage phenon started, Russian women would plainly state in their ad profiles, "white men only". I saw that countless times...however, it seems that now Russian women are willing to go over to the 'darkside' when searching for a man. I attribute this change in attitude to the global popularity of hip-hop culture, plus the athletes of color domination of sports (including golf and tennis).
