We are very blessed in the U.S that this is not a dilemma mothers must face, because America prints its own money..a.k.a our welfare safety net. So the question remains in dependant countries experiencing economic crisises...do you let yourr kids starve, become homeless? Do husbands turn a blind eye to help feed the family? How about the practice of the Govt now posting photos of sex workers with H.I.V? http://www.telegraph.co.uk/women/wo...on-is-the-hidden-cost-of-economic-crisis.html
Wow. That's bad when medical professionals are turning to prostitution becausey they can't make enough money in their chosen fields. I haven't been following this, but didn't Greece institute pretty harsh austerity measures that was supposed to help their economy?
Fucking awful. Austerity plainly doesn't work for the people. We don't have any examples where it has. So damn sad
You going into "the business"? Lol Austerity juices up international credit rating, but the damage done to the population is enormous. The newly elected left-wing coalition is supposed to have some radical new policy prescriptions, including stiffing the IMF and maintaining social spending levels. I admire those objectives, but I wonder how long you can do that with little foreign exchanges reserves and no access to the international credit market? I wish the Greek people well.
Then go back to less trade and living off the land. This current system doesn't benefit most people. We in an age where we can all live pretty damn well. Most of us won't ever live like the rich but its not like were anyway so we no longer need that bs carrot. Instead we can invest in vertical farming so everyone can be fed. Build homes for people and teach them how to maintain them. And give them clean clothes and some entertainment. What else is needed? We can all just focus on self development and art instead of this torturous rat race.
Because the market and comparative advantage-based trade have undermined most economies' ability to be self-sufficient. Everyone's so specialized these days that many can't do anything but what they do at work. We'll all be wage slaves soon.
What do you mean soon? We are already fam And self sufficiency is totally possible with current and emerging technology. Our biggest obstacle are energy which is getting cheaper by the day. I've been reading about energy produced from waste like methane from cows could power the very mechanisms used to produce meat. Hydroelectric is becoming cheaper and cheaper and solar energy can and should replace fossil fuels in as little as 4 years. We are here, now all it requires is the choice to make the changes necessary.
Oh, I know the technology is available now, but I was talking about how those lesser EU member states have let their economies atrophy to the point where they were largely providers of semi-skilled manufactures, like wine, shoes, handicrafts, etc. That's one of the structural problems with the euro. They have advanced economies like Germany in the same currency union with Greece, which is basically the same sort of relationship the US has with Mexico via NAFTA. The skills and development gap between Northern and Southern EU members is considerable, although not insurmountable.
Wasn't there a thread like this, but was taken out due to the original poster being overly questionable on his/her intentions?
I think you mean topless/bottomless-Greek-women-pic-posting Sakkakan? His most recent LINKLESS thread that Webbie called BS on...was that droves of Black American men were flying to Greece to film/put Greek women into porn movies. Um, ok.
greek women are among the hottest you can possibly find...that's fact. and as greek woman, who is searching for her black prince,i ll add that local press is full with advertisent that calls girls for doing adult. greek women are very openminded, loving, sexual and they want to find love and understunding. http://www.xvideos.com/video10222581/sexy_greek_students_doing_porn_to_survive_crisis_
:smt005 Yes. That very one. Sounds like false advertisement to me and bit of a stretch in many respects.
