Bush had a lot of help screwing us and many Americans made horrible financial decisions, based in part on the fact that most Americans link materialism w/ happiness. Even spiritual righteousness is judged by your level of prosperity or rather perceived prosperity in many American churches.

But, yes Obama gets the blame, deserved or not.
