i still fire up Planetside from time to time on PC cant wait for this one only downside is that there are NO BFRs (big ass mechwarrior type vehicles) i got my BFR cert last year...years after everyone else got theirs....now i wont have it for the sequel :smt086 loving the graphics update tho... i recommend planetside 1/2 to anyone who likes massive battles
the height of the bases looks freaking ridiculous tho definite change from planetside 1 :smt101 no more jumping off the walls to engage the enemy:smt081
I played and enjoyed the first game. I remember one time, some random guy and I got locked in an hours long cat and mouse game, on a deserted base. It was a lot of fun. The only thing is, I'm not sure with all the multiplayer FPS out now, that a pay subscription FPS is a viable idea.
pay subscription FPS is usually a AAA title with all the bells and whistles, HUGE worlds, insane amounts of players in one area at once, etc, etc I dare you to find a F2P MMOFPS, that has such scale and quality although...star trek online is a pretty damned good F2P MMORPG that started out as subscription based anything's possible
if you remember from PS1, most vehicles lacked cockpits. I think this a step in the right direction to add more immersion. some vehicles like the skyguard and vanguard allowed you to see part of your vehicle from first-person view, but still neither had functional pits. the explosions look MUCH better tho.. the difference between 1 and 2 are amazing.
bump...still cant wait for this shit to drop :smt099 ill probably end up respec my hardware just for this on highest settings straight gangsta shit
