I couldn't agree more with you, Howiedoit. They have many things like that here in S. Florida too and indeed, it's a great place to meet quality women.

No question these women go after the moolah instead of the bling.

This maybe true Soulthinker, but the point is to get the chance to mingle with these women where you could at any other venue.

I have been to these "Galas" for about 10 years and met and dated women who go to them I was amazed after the first few parties how receptive the white women were to the black men. All you needed to do was ask them to dance and they were more that willing to walk on the dance floor with you.

The best parties are the New Year's Galas when the women will dress to the hilt to impress the men, the problem there can be very few men and far less black men that attend this events. I would advise anyone living in the Washington, DC area to make a reservation to attend and also get a hotel room there is a strong chance you will not be going back to your hotel room alone . . . speaking from past experience.

The unfortunate thing is many black men will not invest the time or the money to go to "Galas" considering it too "Highbrow" and don't want to mingle with UN officials, business people, diplomats and professional career women and content to sit at home and drink a bottle of 40 and watch Dick Clark.

Below are other websites you might be interested in looking into they to have photos of past events.

The funny thing i am completely the reverse. I'd rather go to events like this, not because i want to mingle with the wealthy and elite but because this is the type of thing that stimulates me as a person. I'd rather go here than the flashiest nightclub with all the celebs.

LaydeezmanCris, this is one of the reasons I stopped going to bars years ago event like this tend to "weed out" the riff raff and this is more of a social event where I can broaden my social skills and have connections in my professional career.

Of course. I agree with you 100% Now i am not under any circumstance saying that every visitor to a bar is inherently a low life but i for one have gone past that stage. On a good day, i'd rather go to a jazz club, a book club, a social gathering or business forum such as this. I intend to be a big time property and finance lawyer and perhaps do some investment; the clients are not just going to come to me by magic. And i have as much chance of meeting those people are nightclubs and bars as snow falling in Los Angeles. I may only be 23 years old but time waits for no man.

Since you live in Miami Laydeezman, are there alot of New Year's events like the ones in Washington, DC?

Yes, very many. I cannot say whether we have more here than in DC as i've never been to one in D.C but we have just as many here too. It's very diverse in terms of ethnicity, gender, age, whatever. Although here in South Florida, it tends to be middle class people upwards.

Had a great time last Saturday

This organization recently had a gala event and there were more women than men and everyone had a great time a couple of interracial couples there. Not as many black men as I thought would be there but a few black women attended. Alot of women were just standing around waiting for guys to ask them to dance wished there were more brothers they would have made some connections.

    Did I make a connection I could of but didn't . . . but New Year's will be a different story . . .

I could only imagine if I was single and at one of these events.

I didn't see many black men in the links posted by Howiedoit except for the last one, but I see what you mean, since I'm single.

    Hi SardonicGenie,

The reason you didn't see black men on the links is that you have to look deeper and I didn't want to put too many links on this post because there are far too many. If you have time to search the past parties you will see an amount of black men enjoying themselves.

I've posted the subject to let the black male members on WWBM.com that you can meet professional quality white women who are open to meeting black men at certain events. I have been going to these galas and have met alot of white women who are willing to meet black men and have no problem going out on the floor and dancing with one.

I also notice that there more women who come to these events than men and why should I and a few other black men or white men for that matter, have all the fun.

December is the holiday party season and every weekend up until Christmas there will be some sort of black tie party (at least in Washington, DC) going on with the New Year parties being the biggest.

Oh, cool. 8) Those women are also known as the 'Sophisticated Upper Class' types, right? I just wish that the links had more pictures of white women having fun with black men though, but I still like the idea of this thread.

Hey SardonicGenie, what are the women in Virginia like? Are they the reason you're single or you choose to remain single on your own accord?

I could of put some more links of interracial couples or black men enjoying the company of white women, but I thought it would be best that anyone interested would explore the sites. Those who are local or a distance to drive to the parties might be interested in attending because they sell out fast.

Also if you are planning to stay at a hotel for these parties they are booked before the tickets to the events are sold out.

Pretty much like most white women in the South.
