she comes from a line of award winning cats, her mom was on the cover of a french magazine when she was younger.

sad story, her mom recently came down with some cat disease that's preventing her from having any more litters. the breeder we got her from is going to let us breed with another good blood line as they want a few kitten from her first litter to preserve the blood line.

needless to say she is no normal bengal cat.

Sad news in our house this week, our beloved Merlin (retired off the track thoroughbred) passed on. We gave him the best post racing life we could, (we try to adopt 1 or 2 retired or injured racing thoroughbreds a year to save them from the slaughterhouse), but he finally succumbed to his many injuries. He was a very happy horse during his time with us and we feel fortunate to have had him in our lives. On a positive note, his remains were donated to the U. of A veterinarian program for a study on the treatment of racing horses. So hopefully his passing will improve the lives of horses that are still racing.

So sorry for your family's loss Loki. I hate hearing about all the injuries these horses sustain during their time racing. Using animals in such a way, for our entertainment, is something I'll never be able to support. I admire you for doing all you can to make the remaining years of these horses lives happy.

Thanks for the kind words everyone. Raider you are right, there are so many unscrupulous trainers and owners in horse racing, all they care about is the all mighty $, and not the horses health, short term or long term. Real sports did a great story on horse racing recently...
