Do you have any idea how much it costs to run the forums? Now sure you can imagine the prices would raise if their personals section was nixed and a personals sub forum was added. (look at the number of lurkers, that sure ain't here for chit chat) These webmaster
s are providing a site that people want. Why are you so opposed to them making a small profit while at it?

lol Plentyoffish.com is a completely free dating website and it's membership is no where close to match.com's nor can it match it's quality at all. Same argument for Itunes as well when Napster, Limelinx, etc were on and poppin.

So that means that the majority of people who use the forums aren't looking, hoping or desirous of a potential relationship with other members?

i'd say that the majority of people on here are here for the conversation, mateship and enjoyment of interacting with like minded people. there are a few that have met up or are in a relationship, but as a general rule, that is not what this forum is about

I have no problem with anyone making a profit. And we are specifically talking about this site. Not all sites as a whole since, you seem to be trying to make it about that now. If the webmaster of this site wants to turn it into a complete dating website and the forum becomes for the members of the dating site only, and the current membership and activities go away, then so be it. But as it has been repeatedly been pointed out that is not how and why the forum here is currently geared. Why are you so interested in seeing this becoming a pay forum with a personals sub forum? Would it then be a site you would gladly pay to support because it now has something you are interested in?
