... depends on what you want to get out of church/religious services. I imagine that there are some folks who appreciate a clergyman who can "kick the real". Of course, if this is one of these places where there's a tithing minimum, then... never mind.. before I get started..

side note- charlemagne is an idiot. The Breakfast Club recently replaced the local clear-channel affiliated hip-hop station's morning show. It's not my thing.

 

Attending that Church, and its congregation, would be a heck of an experience!

So rap-r&b-ghetto culture has finally reached the pulpit. So much for being like unto the Lord. Rev. James Cleveland and Mahalia Jackson are spinning in their graves...lol

 

I once thought about creating in a story a character who was a former pimp now turned ordained minister. And while he was well-verse in scripture, he was not reverent when it came to his sermons. I laughed every time I thought about it. But, I decided not to do it.

 

James Cleveland was homosexual pastor sleeping with young boys in church choirs back in the day... Rumor has it Cleveland died of HIV Aids!!!!!

 

I don't know who this person is. I'm an atheist but am familiar with some of the more popular preachers like TD Jakes and Creflo Dollar. Clips of Mr. Bryant's congregation make black church rituals seem so primitive.

 

Now that's what I call "getting the community into the church!" Lol
