    Hey guys .....

I know that i haven't been able to visit the boards like i used to and i'm sure you all know why by now.

It is with pleasure i inform you that my twins arrived yesterday, 14th of November 2007 at 9.55 (10 minutes later than my time). The male twin weighed about 5 pounds and 5 ounces whilst the female was about the same at 5 pounds and 2 ounces. They both came downwards so it was easier, or so i was told. It was rather unusual but the process went well, thanks be to God. But Eva was in so much pain though - it was perhaps the most she'd ever being in, so she says. I felt a mixture of compassion and empathy watching her wringe in pain.

Anyway, the twins came out fine and when i got to see the first one (it was the boy), i held him in my arms, and i don't care that this sounds emasculating, i couldn't hold back the emotions and i broke down in tears. Not because i was sad or anything, in fact the joy and the complicated emotions clouded up and i let it all out with those tears.

Eva is doing very well as are the twins. They were at their 36th week of gestation or something - honestly, i know absolutely nothing about conception, so ladies, feel free to help . The doctors said that Eva needs to stay in the hospital for a few more weeks for post-natal checkups and some other things to make sure her and the twins are doing fine. In about four weeks, they'll be all good to come back home and there, a new chapter in my life begins. :)

Man, this is it for real :D :D :D.

P.S. You may be wondering why i'm refraining from calling the twins by their names. Well, whilst my fiancee has given them names she chose, in my Yoruba culture, children aren't to be called by their names until the day they are named, which for twins, is on the eighth day. I'm not really sure why, but supposedly it has something to do with luck. Man, Africans and our myths  .

Anyway, Eva picked Antonio for the boy. She named him after her younger brother who died when she was 5. And for the girl, she picked Rosario because apparently, she was saying the Rosary in her mind whilst they were removing the second twin as it was the most painful .

As you can tell, very dramatic but all is well now.

    Thank God for that.

    Congratulations Cris.

You're more of a man for admitting the emotions than not.

It's not the same as having the ladies giving you props. But, all I can say is that Xmas came a little early for you. Give Eva our best, too.

    Now, GET SOME SLEEP!

Congratulations!!! BS is right, you are a real man for admitting your emotions. I think every good father feels that way when their children are born. Yes, it's a new life for you. I'm glad everyone is healthy. You are blessed! :D

Ahhh! it is a real man who is honest in his emotions Cris! It did not sound emasculating at all. There is no experience that compares to holding your new born child in your arms.

    CONGRATULATIONS!

So glad to hear that Eva and the babies are doing well.

I agree - get your rest while you can! Things will never be the same again :)

Oh and thanks for the cigar!
