Another question about biracial....Anybody here have biracial kids, friends, family members that are lightskinned?

Have they ever been told they could pass for white?
    Do they pass for white?

Im asking because I only know about the ones that pass for
    black. On t.v. and personal.

Well, I'm sure you're asking more about black/white biracial. My daughter is hispanic/white biracial. She looked very hispanic when she was born, and then morphed into what people like to call my "mini-me". :D

A friend of mine got a son who is now 2 and so light that some people think he is white. His hair is blonde also. If I find one I can post a pic of him so you can see :)

i've only known a couple biracial people who could have passed as white. the one girl had a white momma and really dark black daddy....that girl was as light as i am. i remember when i first met her, i thought she might be mixed (b/c of certain features), but her super light skin made me think other wise. once summer rolled around, she got some sun, and definitely looked mixed then.

the other girl i knew...i don't think she could have passed as white, but it was really hard to try to figure out her ethnicity. her mom was black/irish, and her dad was chinese/hawaiian/latin. she was olive complected, with light-colored almond eyes and full lips. she was totally gorgeous. gotta love the beautiful "mixtures" in people.

Well I was talking black and white, because back in the day a lot of biracial (black&white) people used to pass for white because of how light they was, now days a lot of biracial people you could see they mixed with black. I was wondering if those types are still around, because it's a shame but a lot of biracial people no matter the mix, don't see themselves as mixed and judging how america defines you without asking you kind of see why, but don't with some who do it because they are ashamed.

What ive noticed,is that with alot of Jewish/Black mixes, alot of the time they look "white".I dont know, its just something i noticed.Ive seen alot of mulatto people who could pass as white though.

    All i know,is that mulatto girls as fine as hell.Not all of them,but damn near majority.ex Halle berry,aalicia keys,Mariah Carrey,etc :D

Pretty soon we're all have to go by the "one drop rule".

As far as passing for white, most people usually have to adapt to their everyday surroundings. If they are smart enough then they can make the adjustment on a dime and blend in to any group.

I'm a light-skinned black guy, but I have a hispanic-sounding first name, and I can pretty much pass for black, hispanic, arab, or bi-racial. However if I were still working in sales and I called you on the phone, you would bet your life savings that I was white.

    Hi, kenny_g,

    Moskvichka hey Ma!

It is good to see you still around, someone I know and am glad to see, in a web sense! I hope you are doing very well!

I have been around but busy with the kids, they are 6 and 5 now. I have been lurking on and off but I guess I'm feelin' mouthy again.

I like this board for the most part. It is tough to be a ww in a relationship with a bm. Some of the stories I could tell about my upper class surburban life and the whites that make it up! Makes me wish we were back in the "hood" before my husband's career took off and we had kids. I didn't have to deal with these people. And they are a trip!

Sometimes I feel like an insect. The things people ask, the shock over my kids looking the way they do and when they finally find out "what" their father is......a MAN a**hole! I like to keep people guessing, they go through contortions trying to figure it out. LMAO.

So important to label and identify what is not white...lol....please.

I was taught that there are two types of people in the world; people who are smart, and people who are stupid.

Unfortunately they both can fall under ANY race.

lol....ahh, if i lived closer, i'd gladly give you a break for a few hours. it will pass though....i remember some of those kids i used to work with...and when they get to be about 6-7yrs/o, you really start to see an attitude change. i guess they are somewhere between babies and pre-puberty....rough stuff, but still gotta love 'em.

Were you born in 87? You sound like you need a good whooping from your grandfather so you'd learn how to talk to people.

your kids are beautiful. that little boy is so handsome...hehehe looks like a little grown man sitting there.

i know what you're saying about some of the "suburban" white folks....a friend of mine (her and her husband are both white), but they adopted two little kids from taiwan. when they first got their son, she was out shopping, and this redneck, white woman comes up to her and was like , "where'd you get him?" i about died!!! i couldn't believe it! i wanted to say, "well, they were having a sale down at the local piggly wiggly, so i picked me one up"....

wonder what she would have done? people can be so ignorant.
