Agreed, very depressing story, what is really a shame is that we still see the Iago mentality present day far too much.

That is a good pix of Paul Robeson and Peggy Ashcroft. Has anyone seen the movie Othello starring Laurence Fishburne and Irene Jacob? I liked that more than "O".

I liked it. It was a fairly good movie. Definitely worth the cost of renting it....

I know this thread is old, but I didn't want to make another thread about the same topic. Anywho, I just watched this movie about a week or two ago and I have to say, its a shame that Othello was not nominated for an Oscar. The acting was superb, Laurence Fishburne and Kenneth Branagh were amazing. For those who haven't seen it, I definitely recommend this film. Its very sad & tragic though, but most of shakespeare's plays are sad.
