Not only should you roll through with condoms but hide your wallet because you can also get robbed on the street and not to mention in your own hotel room. Do your research before you go to Brazil and watch your back . . . not hers!!!
Indeed. And you know, tourists are the #1 targets, believe it or not. I read a story in the Miami Herald some time about three months ago about three Brazilian women who drugged a Canadian tourist, stole his credit cards and threw him in the middle of nowhere. His visa and every one of his important travel documents were stolen too and dude was stuck in Brazil for a long time because to return home, he needed his documents, all of which were taken by the women. When i read the story, i was shell-shocked. The man had apparently been going to Brazil frequently and had never been a victim of one of these exasperating attacks. It also happened that he was looking for a wife. One of the culprits was the woman he actually wanted to bring to Canada. So for those of y'all planning a trip to Brazil or anywhere for that matter, be safe. Do not carry any documents you do not need. And always keep tightly the ones you do need. For example, when i travel, i keep my documents in a waistbag which is often locked up. So, to steal my stuff, you actually need to get it off my waist and unlock it which would require me to be at least incapacitated for it to happen. Also, i never take more than one suitcase on any trip. I read that about 50% of those who encounter some hassle on a vacation trip such as theft or fraud happen to be carrying at least 2 suitcases. So i do not bother with any of that. Always be safe on a trip and try to find out about your destination. It helps.
There plenty of those down there....Not in Rio tho... You wanna visit Sao Palo or the southern half of the country for the more "European" looking Braslian women. Its insane.... White Women + Jo-Lo ass = Heaven Its straight up nutty mayne.
There are several 'adult vacation' companies in the States that cater to the guy/guys who want to go to Rio for a good time without having to act like an obvious tourist and attract the wrong kind of attention. I'll be contacting one myself when I make that trip!
This is from a dating site. Some 9000 women listed, apparently! If these ladies are examples of what can be 'dated' then count me in! http://www3.latineuro.com/browse.php?cat=brazil&page=1
Well.... Im kinda muried in Euro chicks at the moment and its pretty serious. I do wanna go however, I will keep you posted. I'll be leaving for Europe in later this month. If you haven't sent for your passport, do it now, just in case -
Gentlemen, before you plop down the greens for an airplane ticket to Brazil either going it on your own, with a trusted buddy, a group of buddies or with a travel company do some research. Keep in mind Brazil is not like the United States where if something goes wrong you can run to the local police (who can be corrupt) and ask for help, this is a 3rd World Country which is 10 or 20 years behind us. When you do go just be aware of your surroundings and if you do drink to get drunk do it in the hotel bar or at a bar close to your hotel. If you have to take transportation let the hotel call your cab or shuttle and let the hotel know where you are going. Also get the address of the nearest US embassy just in case you get into trouble. I have read countless articles of guys both black and white going to places like South America and the Caribbean with partying only on their minds and being robbed or beaten for because they were an easy mark. Some of the Brazilians can speak English most cannot so brush up on your Spanish or at least carry a transalation book with you. If I was going to Brazil I would hang out at the hotel beach to meet women because that's where the local women be for the male tourist. One last important thing, bring lots of cash!!! Why? These women are expected to be compensated for their time either with drinks, dinner or cash to help out their families, rarely you will just happen to "bump" into a Brazilian woman who will not be a prositute. For those you are planning to travel to Brazil, have fun!!!
Good points. I've contacted a few Brazilian women via craigslist.org who will, for a price, show you around. They seem open minded and even the ones who aren't 'working girls' understand the kind of venues we would like to hang out in. You can even place an ad yourself for a guide. Hope I'm not accused of advertising but this can be seen in addition to the previous warnings.... You can also search for Brazil related blogs.
Basically you can learn alot more about Brasil on another "forum" Im not going to pomote here. But yes, learn Portuguese! Or at least be very good with your spanish. "Freebies" abound, but you need to be able to talk to them. If your in Rio alot of the women you see at Help! are from the local "hoods" (ieoor) and yes some are looking for a "hand-out" in return their companionship, at least at first... It is NOT uncomon to find a "girlfriend" for your entire trip and it cost you less than it does to take a typical American girl out on a single date. Be aware that some might view you as an ATM machine... Without getting into futher detail, prosutition is accepted behavior. You don't have to go home alone if you don't want too and your vaction doesn't have to "sex-less" just because you don't know enough Portuguese or have no game to hook up with a local cutie. You have options... Another point I should make - You will not have a problem hooking up with Brasilans of African decent, DUH. But if you favor more European looking ladies, then Im not saying your out of luck, but I have been told by several for free away (and its NEVER TRUELY FREE REMEMBER THAT!) its a bit harder to come by. Depending on your budget and what you expect out of your trip, I would suggest Rio as your first place to visit if your a complete "newbie" and you will not be disapointed.
