    Um, Lenovo

Lenovo makes the best laptops hands down, everyone knows that. All of the companies I've worked for use Lenovo's for their employees, though Twitter does use primarily macs.

I actually have an ASUS laptop that was pretty cheap and serves me well, although I notice that the Lenovo laptops have superior battery management. I could run that thing on the battery for days on end.

+1 Apple is a cult, I mean rabid following...

Not because the product is better, they sold you on branding.

    Android phones crush the IPhone.

Anyway, HP still makes good laptops. Asus is good. The only Japanese made laptops are Fujitsu and they are very reliable.

I also like Toshiba and Samsung laptops. I may get a Samsung this BF to go with my HP that I am typing for some some new media that will debt in 2013.

Also looking at a Nexus 7 for my next European (or South American adventure)

Well seeing as how I have worked (as in fix) both PCs and Macs...I have to beg to differ.

It is MUCH easier to fix a Mac with software issues than it is to fix a PC. Period.

    That's my experience and YMMV.
One of the techs that works with us is a software developer. He did it at apple for many years and in addition to fixing hw now he still develops.

He works with android phones and says between the two apple is much easier to develop for and maintain.
And their OS update situation is a huge nasty mess.

    So whatever.
