I'm kind of weird with names, because I always associate them with someone I know (if I know anyone with that name), and that can determine whether I like the name or not. My man's name is Eddie and I've never really like that name before I met him, because I went to elementary school with a boy named Eddie and he was...not someone I liked or was very fond of. But now, I do like that name and it's taken on a new ambiance for me. My best friend has a son named Ethan, and I never really liked that name either, but now I do. Names grow on me, if I know someone I like with the name. Has that ever happened to anyone else? It's a lot to do with "association" for me. I mentioned that my man wanted to name our daughter Nala, and I didn't really like it because I always associate it with the cartoon lion, yet when I really try to think about it and not make that association, I think it really does sound pretty. Anyways, I'm just bored and felt like babbling.

For a girl name, I also like Ellana (eh-la-nuh), but it's already taken by my friend. She always thinks of nice names. I think I'm going to go look at baby names.

 

I like Lolita for a girl, I like the novel too.

I'm like you too Britt, I associate names with certain things. Like, I think all Christophers should have black or brown hair. Stupid, I know. If I know someone with a name I like but I don't like them, then it puts me off the name completely. My Aunt didn't like the name Jacob because she knew an idiot with the name but now that Jacob is Jacob she likes it.
