Obama Sparking a Baby Boom

"The theory is almost too perfect to be true. Barack Obama, the son of politically progressive parents, was born Aug. 4, 1961—almost nine months to the day after John F. Kennedy was elected to the White House. Is it possible Obama was conceived on that historic night?

And if so, could history repeat itself? In the hours and days since Obama's victory, many of his exhilarated supporters have been, shall we say, in the mood for love. And though it's too soon to know for sure, experts aren't ruling out the possibility of an Obama baby boom—the kind of blip in the national birth rate that often follows a seismic event, whether it's scary (a terrorist attack) or celebratory (the end of World War II). "The mood of the country and the optimism about leadership is always somewhat related to birth rates," says Dr. Manny Alvarez, chief of reproductive science at Hackensack University Medical Center in New Jersey. "I'm gearing up for a healthy increase."

Let's hope these "proud" parents are happliy married or at least in a strong relationship otherwise there will be a lot of child support to pay out.

Great, now we will have more children out of wedlock, and straining the current welfare system. What a joyous event.

What are you, a buffoon? Where does it mention the status of anyone here? Before you say something dumb, could u at least pretend to have given it a thought?

Maybe he meant the poor people effected by the boom would be on welfare. He did not state race.

I hate population growth of any kind. America is the only "advanced" country on Earth where people look at prosperity as another opportunity to make a fucking baby. Jesus Christ. Hopefully the recession will inspire people to wear a condom, use birth control or pull out.

Xerxes, I could not agree with you more. Before you even think about bringing life into this world today you have to make sure you have JOB SECURITY and money in the bank.

Exactly.....I'll actually go on a limb here and say that prospective mothers should undergo an IQ test of some sort. Psychologists should determine the mental state of said women and whether they have the right to either obtain a "pregnancy permit" or to maintain possession of the baby they are about to bring into this world.

Legislation should ensure that a mother is not only academically inclined, but her empathy and intelligence should meet a standardized specification. In the event that a certain woman consistently fails to pass the "pregnancy permit" or the test to keep the baby, she should be banned from ever a)being pregnant b)associating with children c)adopting. And any actions by her, such as falling pregnant, will result in imprisonment/or sterilization, and a minimum fine of $500 000.

Why couldn't we have done this with your mother?

In America, everyone has the right to procreate no matter what level of education a person has, but it's more common sense.

The title of this post is called "Obama Sparking a Baby Boom" which means men and women who are caught up in the Obama win are having sex may result in births 9 months later. I put the question out will these couples regret their decision considering the state of the economy.

Put 2 and 2 together moron. Who do you think are having the children? Think of the state of the economy, welfare, social services systems. Maybe YOU COULD give it a thought smart guy.
