I've noticed a significant change in interactions between black men and white women in New York City over the past few months. I'm starting to see a whole lot more BM/WW couples out and about on the streets and most of them did not show a trace of shame when it came to displaying their feelings for each other. Usually I would only see BM/WW couples in certain places like downtown Manhatten where people tend to be a little bit more liberal, but now I see them EVERYWHERE. Well I wouldn't go as far as saying Bensonhurst or Howard Beach put you get the picture. Even in my own life the white women are a lot more receptive and friendly. Even in areas where there's is not a lot of people around that would give a woman speaking with a stranger a sense of security.

Three days ago I saw this very attractive white woman on the train so I decided to sit beside her(actually I was one seat away from her with no one in between) to get a feel for her vibes. A couple came to our seats to sit down so she had to scoot over next to me. When she moved over she got REAL close, like from the shoulder blades down to the thighs. The train then made an abrupt stop and she started laughing and she said something like, "Whew I'm glad we didn't fall" or something of that nature. That was all I needed to hear so I introduced myself and we started to talk. Later on she in the conversation she gets up and and puts on a skirt over her jeans and I asked "Why?" and she tells me jokingly that she is "leading a double life" and she's Jewish and she doesn't want anyone in her community to see her with jeans on. Anyway at my stop we exchanged numbers and parted ways. She was really cool and full of energy.

Minnesota puts all areas in the US to shame when it comes to BM/WW....plus, the quality of women in MN is very high.

Im originally from New York City but i now live in Miami. I have 2 say there are a lot of bm/ww relationships there. I grew up in Manhattan in a middle-class, predominantly white area and there were a few blacks there. New York boasts one of the best IR dating percentages of cities in America.

    diamondlife, any follow-up?

Did you ever get together with the lady in question? Just curious. Need some closure, my man!

Yes, and we are still seeing each other, but I don't think she will cross all the way over as far as considering any non-jewish men for marriage. Not that I want to get married at this point.

Well, it IS Manhattan, come on.

Manhattan, Long Island, probably not very liberal overall.

Some parts of NY still have their share of racism/classism, like any place.

Yeah I know...i guess you can compare NYC to L.A. Looks can be deceiving. The women are not that open to IR in my opinion. But everyone may have different opinions and experiences. So to each their own

Wow welcome from the dead, I wonder if Civic is still dating that big boobie Polish girl :)

In any event, NYC? Are you serious, its about as open to IR as any Upper East Coast city is, meaning, not that good. You'll stand a better chance with all the Europeans in town...

Long Island is terrible. I lived out there for a little over a year, and I'm still surprised that I lasted that long. My experiences dating my preference while I've lived in the City have been so so. On the whole, coming to NYC from Texas was a good change of scenery, but I've had my fill and will probably be leaving next year.

I've lived here for about 10 years now and I can tell you that it's really a case by case scenrio , especially in Manhattan. I think people tend to be more accepting of IR's here even if they aren't actively participating in them. The thing is, in Manhattan there are tons of foreigners, especially Europeans and from my experience, those WW tend to place far less restrictions on themselves than some of the domestics. My GF is European, blonde haired and blue eyed and we met in Manhattan. I can say that when we do go out, we still get looks, nothing hostile but we still stand out though.
