Once Trump found out only a handful of Eagles would be attending the WH event, DONALD TRUMP pulled the invite to the team.
Doug Peterson and Nick Foles even said they were looking forward to the trip.

Trump's excuse was that the Eagles refused to stand for the National Anthem.

 

No. AB. That isn't what happened. You likely won't here your narrative repeated and that's all l have to say on that.

There are no winners in this. Neither side should have polticized this.
It's a tradition and no place to grandstand, on both sides. Very disheartening.

 

The fuck? This literally happened in the last week. Trump wrote on Twitter that he was disinviting the team because too few players were coming to meet him and then tried to tie them to the anthem protests, which the team didn't do during the regular season.



As for politicization: this started because one side was protesting racial injustice, then Trump threw the entire league under the bus to score points with his base. Jerry Jones admitted that Trump told him as much under oath in a deposition.

Again, I find it bizarre that a woman who claims to have an affinity for black men thinks that the people protesting racism and the politician attacking the protest to appeal to his racist supporters are equally at fault.

 

Exactly! Those players stated why they were protesting, and this POTUS totally ignored their reason, and pushed his bullshit narrative which of course is raw meat for his base. He himself stated that "only a small number of players" would attend. We're aware that his ego can't handle that, but does that somehow lessen the significance of the event because it's a small number of team personnel vs. all (or nearly all) of them? If he was a person with slightest amount of integrity, he wouldn't have scrapped the invite, but this is just another of the self-serving, hate-filled tactics that this POTUS shows on a near daily basis.

Now, lets see what happens with the Washington Capitals win as Devante Smith-Pelly has already stated that if they won it all, he won't attend a White House visit.

 

Same thing with the Warriors. Not only is Steph not a fan but neither is Steve Kerr. The only thing left is for Trump to throw a twissy fit and "uninvite" them too.
