Looks like the new Iraqi government is starting to smell its shit (and it doesnt stink), by refusing to give remaining American military trainers immunity while in-country, after the last units pull out. How do we respond; by saying fuck you and pulling out a brigade earlier than scheduled (at least that's the view i'd like to have anyway, even if Washington doesnt share it).

This is an interesting turn of events tho...the whole immunity issue. It doesn't race bait or deal with big titties, so I guess that's why it hasn't been mentioned earlier. You people forgot the wars already?

    :p

    Interesting.

Iraq is standing up and not taking the USA bullshit.

And yes, the general population has forgotten about Iraq.

No victory ticker tape parade on NYC Broadway or recognition of success of completion.

    Damn shame.

R.I.P. to the over 4000+ G.I. that came home in flag drapped coffins.

What's with this fantasy that wearing a uniform makes you more than human lately. I definitely agree with Flame. If Vietnam is any indication of how soldiers act in high risk situations then I can see why Iraqis are saying fuck you to people who turned their home into a war zone against their will. Should they be saying thanks for the hundreds of thousands of deaths you people unnecessarily caused? Come on Petty.

.....I stopped reading at first because the closest you got to a uniform was a mcdonalds hat

then i glanced over that Vietnam bit and did one of these

if you want to pretend you know what's going on in Iraq, because you have Full Metal Jacket on DVD, more power to ya

but you just took a huge steaming shit on anyone that's actually been deployed there with your comments

I guess you think guys are running around lopping off ears and burning villages to the ground for GP.

No but I know how to read and I talk to war vets and even they had no clue what they were doing over there.

I hate the whole idea that the troops need to be supported. They are another coercive apartus of the state that just do what the fuck they are told. They went in and occupied a country who didn't do a fucking thing against the American people.
Yet the Iraqis have some nerve wanting them out right? Negro you can't be serious.

Never served but I have a relative who's a Korean War vet that I used to take all the time to the VA hospital in D.C.

It's shocking to see how young some of these Iraq war vets are, many of them look like typical teenagers and college freshman, except missing a limb here and there, or an eye, or are re-learning how to walk with a prosthetic leg.

There's a level of psychological stress IMO that a soldier experiences in a combat zone that most people can't begin to process.

Whereas a police officer may wake up in the morning and believe he potentially could face a life threatening situation, a combat soldier knows whenever he leaves base camp there are literally hundreds of mufuckas who want and will try to KILL HIM. Every single day a soldier is in country.

    That's an endless mindfuck.

And it explains why some soldiers trust their rifles more than the standard military rules of engagement and don't see 'civilians' as any different from enemy combatants.

That said, it's crazy to believe foreign soldiers should be given legal immunity by an occupied country's government. If you break the law IMO you should be held accountable.

Besides it's the private military contractors and mercenary soldiers most responsible for the atrocities in Iraq, not the grunt enlisted or their officers.

The guys who aren't fighting for the flag shouldn't be given shelter under it.

You'd be surprised how many of those private military contractors and mercenary soldiers are ON THE STREETS OF AMERICA.

Blackwater troops...fresh from killing civilians in Iraq...arrived in New Orleans right after Katrina......one can only imagine what they did in NO.
