    I've heard of her before but can't recall under what context but the name definitely rings a bell from my past scholastic undertakings. :)

    Yeah, she's brilliant. She and Sonia Sanchez were two of the best women poets around. Is she still writing?

    Remember her from way back.

    Also reminds me of a song from that old rap group 'Digable Planets'...

    Crazy fly whips, baggy jeans and sneakers
    Silver hoops and Jeeps, hip-hop in the speakers

    The gag rule is bunk, it's like chains on the rump
    We help to liberate through this butt-shaking funk
