LC you are absolutely right about the reason why my steelers los that game, everybody and they mama know that offensive line the last two weeks has looked pityful but them, better wake up and realize because mike tomlin aint like cowher....you will and can be repalced. But anyway here ar my picks understand we have to get the early jump because the traditional thanksgiving day games so here we go: GB over DET - This will come down to the final play because the lions aren't like the other lions teams of the last few seasons, they're pretty good, but not that good of coure as to why Im picking them to lose  DAL over NYJ - Dallas can protect, steelers can't that is why this will be a "duh they are going to win" game. INDY over ATL - Only thing that stopped them from beating SD was the kicking game and chargers has a good pass defense, atlanta doesn't indy wins despite it's losses, but boy is this going to be a tough six games for indy they meet some of good defenses down the stretch. SEA ove STL - Seattle is going to win their division again. Iam declaring their season this year lucky as hell to be in such a weak division. Anybody agree! WSH over TB - washington's come back last week tells me they will win this game, that was a good comeback against dallas even though they didn't win. NO over CAR - NO will bounce back I just feel it. TEN over CINCY - Tennessee won't get beat at defense again, their defense is too good, that offense will struggle against a team of replacements I swear. HOU over CLE - Battle of the offenses, with schaub back, cleveland can't stop andre davis, man is he good. BUF over JAC - My upset pick because jacksonville is inconsistent and buffalo wasn't beat last sunday night, they were embarrassed, embarrassed teams that have won games lik buffalo has don't like being embarrassed. KC over OAK - This will be holmes' break out game this season to show the world he is back, he needs it to be because he can very well be released after this season and so he needs to go out in free agency with wanted sign on him. NYG over MIN - Another game that is going to add to giants bid for a wild card spot thats all this is. ARZ over SF - ARZ is better than SF that is all you can say in a game that is the battle of the losing records. BAL over SD - They still have a good defense and phillip rivers can't handle a good defense and niether can tomlinson and their offensive line this season. DEN over CHI - Denver is an up and down team, but chicago is here and there. Kind of a toss up pick. PHI over NE - I know, I know but I don' see no other team on their schedule that could be manage the upset. I was going with the steelers, but man well I'll put it like this, this pick won't be my sunday pick it will be my monday pick. Im picking based on if the steelers win or lose so it will be like this. PHI over NE If steelers lose, NE over PHI If they win. So It is like two picks based on one game. BTW I got the Steelers in that game.
Green Bay Packers vs Detroit Lions New York Jets vs Dallas Cowboys Indianapolis Colts vs Atlanta Falcons New Orleans Saints vs Carolina Panthers Tennessee Titans vs Cincinnati Bengals Houston Texans vs Cleveland Browns Buffalo Bills vs Jacksonville Jaguars Oakland Raiders vs Kansas City Chiefs Minnesota Vikings vs New York Giants Seattle Seahawks vs St Louis Rams Washington Redskins vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers San Francisco 49ers vs Arizona Cardinals Denver Broncos vs Chicago Bears Baltimore Ravens vs San Diego Chargers Philadelphia Eagles vs New England Patriots Miami Dolphins vs Pittsburgh Steelers
Sorry guys, i'm out of town with my family, but i was able to get myself to a computer to get my picks in. It's almost game time, so let me do this quick. Green Bay over Detroit Dallas over NY Jets Indianapolis over Atlanta Jacksonville over Buffalo St. Louis over Seattle NY Giants over Minnesota Oakland over Kansas City Houston over Cleveland New Orleans over Carolina Washington over Tampa Bay Cincinnati over Tennessee Arizona over San Francisco San Diego over Baltimore Chicago over Denver
Crap, i forgot to post my picks for the New England vs. Philly game and the Pittsburgh vs. Miami game. I hope you guys don't think i'm cheating or anything, but i really would have picked New England to win. Seriously. You know i wouldn't lie about that. And because Pittsburgh hasn't played yet, of course i'm picking them as well. Just thought i'd fix that little mistake, as it was thanksgiving, and i was rushing, and forgot to make picks for those games. Sorry about that.
Bry, it's cool. We believe you. 8) Sometimes, i've either had picks i wanted to change or ones that i honestly made a mistake on, but not to seem like a flip-flopper or cheat (even both), i let it go. The Green Bay Packers vs Detroit Lions was a great one to enjoy Thanksgiving Day with. I flew out to see my family in NYC and we all watched it together - great experience. Brett Favre is the man. 1-0 Honestly, why did the Jets even bother to fly out to Irving seeing as they had nothing to show for it. Jets QB Kellen Clemens blew 10 straight passes in a row. Whats more, they had just nine first downs and converted only 2 of 14 third downs. Ewwww!!!!! 2-0 Peyton Manning surpassed Warren Moon for the fifth most TD passes with his second quarter pass to Reggie Wayne. Good for him, but seriously, this team need Marvin Harrison back as soon as possible. Even though they walloped Atlanta, their receivers left a lot to be desired - as has been the case in previous games. 3-0 Naw'lins took care of Carolina in the end zone. They got inside the Panthers 20 on four occassions. Drew Brees was near perfect - apart from his intercepted pass, he did what good QBs do which is throw TD passes after TD passes. Defensively, the Saints were just as sound. Overall, a very convincing performance from the road team. 4-0 Ocho Cinco!!! Ocho Cinco!!! Ocho Cinco!!! Ocho Cinco!!! 4-1 The Browns' defense was actually impressive against the Texans. Better than i had expected. 5-1 Jaguars LB Justin Durant had a team high eight tackles against the Bills. He even picked J.P Losman in the fourth quarter. All kudos go to him. Actually, the Jags play better defense than people give them credit for as illustrated by this game. 6-1 Seriously, Oakland (and Chicago) have fucked up my record more than any other team. 6-2 Rookie QB Tarvaris Jackson arguably had the best game of his career against the Giants, whilst Eli Manning had the worst one of his season. My, what a juxtaposition!!!! 6-3 I still am trying to make up my mind as to who had the better kickoff return between Josh Wilson and Devin Hester (i bet Bry wants to wet himself 8) :lol. Jesus, did you guys see it on ESPN? It was awesome and was perhaps the only highlight in a somewhat dull contest. 7-3 Jason Campbell has the ability to be a star QB, but he still need to learn how to cope under pressure. This is the second week that he has cost his team a victory. With Washington seeming poised to do something on offense, Campbell threw an INT deep into Tampa Bay territory. That all but ended their hopes of stealing the game. 8-3 Finally, the 49ers ended their eight game losing streak. For a team who looked playoff potential at the beginning, they have not had the most convincing season. 8-4 Okay, now i know who had the No. 1 play of the week - it's Devin Hester. Happy, Bry? 8) j/k. But seriously, this dude is a piece of work. 89 fucking yards and what's more, he tied his own record with five touchdown returns in a season. The defense was not as impressive, but they were led by Adewale Ogunleye who had seven tackles, two sacks and a forced fumble. However, when it's all said and done, Chicago were lucky to win this one. It was the fifth time this season a Broncos game was decided on the final play, and a better kicker would have tied up the game. But i don't really care as i picked them to win and they did. 9-4 Reigning MVP LaDainian Tomlinson is the newest member of the 10,000 rushing yards club. He cashed his cheque in his team's 32-14 pounding of the Baltimore Ravens. The Ravens, on the other hand, have their first five-game losing streak in team history. 10-4 Seriously, i was shaking yesterday when i checked the scores of the Patriots-Eagles game. I was thinking, "Is this unbelievable run about to end"? Then, what happens, Asante Samuel intercepts the pass on defense? God, how relieved i was. I am not a glory hunter by any means - God, anyone who supports the Dolphins is the last you should call one - but i really want the Pats to go all the way. Forget "spygate", they deserve to be the Super Bowl winners. Apart from the fact that i want Randy Moss to get his long-overdue ring, New England have proven to the league that they are consistent, entertaining and capable to beating anybody. Shaky game, but good all the same. 11-4 Yes, another impressive week for me at 11-4. If the Steelers win tonight, i have a 12-4 record, which is what i need at this stage as i trail JREM and Kenny G. Speaking of Kenny, i went through your review to see how much work i need to do and it seems like you had a rough week. Of course, it is good news for me 8).
Maaaaaaaaan...I went 9 and 7!!! Damn Bears, and damn Niners...well, at least my Saints won... Alright guys, post your scores so I can recap the week!!!
Bryant, looks like you went 11-5 JREM went 9-7 Kenny went 6-10 Wedlock went 8-8 ... and i went 12-4 On a more sad note, my heart goes out to the family of Sean Taylor of the Washington Redskins. Its such a shame to see another young black man getting murdered in the peace of his own home. May his soul rest in peace!!!!
Thanks for posting the updated scores Cris. Who the heck is in the lead now?? By the way, i am still in complete shock over the death of Shawn Taylor. I thought he would make it through the night, but he didn't. This is a very sad day for sports fans. Very sad day indeed. My heart and prayers go out to his family. May his soul rest in peace.
Thank you very much Laydeezman for the recap of the records...Wow, Kenny went 6 and 10!!! sounds like his leads is going tos hrink a lot! I am still in shock about the death of Sean Taylor as well...but brothers, let's remember, nice young black men die like that everyday...here in New Orleans, it's literally every hour...I know he was famous and everyone hears about it, but sadly, it's what happens in America every single day...just sad Well, if we go back to football, here are the updated records (last week in parentheses)! Man and look who is now in the lead after a great streak!!! mister Laydeezman!!! man, I hate you Cris, and I'm comin after you!!! Cris: 96-64 (84-60) Kenny: 96-64 (90-54) JREM: 95-65 (86-58 ) Bry: 92-68 (81-63) Wed: 85-75 (77-67) ps: Bry, your record last week was 81-63, instead of 83-63...a little mistake that slipped in sorry...now all records are correct, total number of games played so far is 160 !
Sean Taylor's death is a surprise to me as well, he died from being shot in a major leg artery and they are saying that his couldn't get through to 911 get an ambulance in time so now their is controversy surrounding his death.
Thursday night football pics: DAL over GB - Dallas has too much offense for packers' defense and I just see them as the number 1 seed in the NFC. I'LL submit my weekend pics later don't got much time tonight.
Results for Week 12 and picks for Week 13. I went 8 and 8 last week which brings my amended record to 85 and 75.My picks for week 13 are: NYJ,DAL,KC,CAR,STL,IND,PHI,WAS,MINN,TENN,OAK,CLE,CHI.PITT,and TB. BAL is my upset special.
Hey guys...I'll post all my picks later as well, for tonight, it's the upset, Green Bay over Dallas in a shootout!!!
Darnit GreenBay, way to let me down! Nice going Lord Favre! But seriously, i think the Packers are gonna beat the Cowboys if they play again. If Favre plays his game, and the defense gets Woodson back, this Packer team is REALLY good. Their receivers are a bunch of no-names, but those boys catch EVERY BALL, and run after the catch! And Rodgers is a pretty good backup. I thought he would be a bust, but i guess sitting behind greybeard actually paid off a little bit lol. By the way, did i mention how much i HATE Dallas!
Bryant, seriously you need to stop reading my mind. I couldn't agree more. On a lighter note, can i tell you guys that Tony Romo really is the next Brett Favre. All Brett could do was watch Romo do his best impression of him. You're right, Green Bay's defense has hurt but when they're all healthy, they're as good as New England and Indy, yes i said that. About their receivers, again you're 100% accurate. Those guys are not T.O and Moss in terms of name recognition but they can hold their own. I knew Greg Jennings was good when he burned Champ Bailey a few weeks ago to score the winning TD, you probably remember that. The guy will be a star if he remains with an elite QB. The only part i disagree is with the Dallas. Maybe because i like the Dolphins and Pats but i actually like the Cowboys. In my opinion, the Romo-Owens is the second best in the league (of course, behind Brady-Moss).
Oh yeah man, when i was watching Aaron Rodgers throw 5 yard ins/outs to the receivers who were just about taking every pass to the house or somewhere close, i started to wonder how good my Bears would be if we had receivers who could do that. I had only seen a few clips of Jennings, but man, that guy is a beast. He doesn't drop anything. As soon as they get Woodson, and KGB back in the lineup, i really think they match up better with New England than anybody else. And the only reason i hate the Cowgirls is because they whipped my Bears and had Rex Grossman benched, which led to Griese coming in and throwing numerous/untimely picks, which has put our season in jeopardy. If it weren't for the Cowgirls, none of this would have happened! And Romo and T.O are a GREAT combo, but i still hate T.O and think he is a bum, and that goofy smirk on Romo's face just really gets on my nerves sometimes. By the way Cris, how are the twins doing??
Thanks for asking 'bout my twins, man. They're doing great. I went to see them and their mother yesterday. Fortunately, the doc said that Eva doesn't have to stay that long in the hospital so she's coming home on the 13th. It's amazing how much they've grown in the space of 16 days. About your dear care bears (gotta love the wordplay, lol), i think they need receivers more than anything. Okay, sure you guys have Bernard Berrian and Mushin Muhammad, but what happens when the latter is hurt? Or when they'er having bad games? Hester is a good backup but even he can't do it all? Besides, they all drop the damn ball too much. They should take the cue from Jennings. That guy's hands are like glue. Do you think the Bears will make the playoffs, Bry?
That's great news that Eva doesn't have to stay in the hospital that much longer. I bet you can't wait to have her home. And of course, it's great news hearing that the twins are doing well. I hope you keep us updated on that as they keep getting bigger. haha...care bears huh? at least you didn't call them the Gummy Bears like some other people  Our receiving core has been abysmal all season long. Bernard Berrian drops more than he catches (even though the ones he does make are usually circus type catches) Muhsin Muhammed is sooo old that he can't even separate from a nickel corner, and Devin Hester is rarely being utilized because of the ineptitude of our bone headed offensive coordinator who can't seem to find ways to get the ball into the hands of the most explosive runner in the league. Well, we have the Giants, and then Redskins, Vikings, Packers and Saints. That's a pretty tough schedule. I would say the odds of us winning five straight against these teams are pretty slim (because of the huge hole that Griese has put us in!) but with the Sex Cannon back at the helm, anything is possible!
